The crab cake appetizer was great but the catfish was awful as were the other main courses. Service was attentive but did not make up for an awful dinner. Pass on Jax!

Great menu. Pricey, but it seems all restaurants in Boulder are these days. Alexis was our server and she was outstanding. We sat at the two seat table tops next to the bar and it was perfect. The scallop ceviche appetizer was outstanding. Perfect for two people to share.

Our server was very pushy and rushed our entire experience just to get us finished as soon as possible to flip the table. Took food off the table with out asking if we were done or if we wanted a box to take it home. Food was good but seemed better in the pass.

Food, service and ambiance excellent. The one negative was the short pours on wine by the glass. I commented to the waitress about it and she said they pour a 4oz glass, which translates to nearly 6.5 glasses/bottle. Standard for the industry through the years has long been 5 glasses/ bottle. I was a bit surprised that she didn't compensate considering my comment, even though I did ask her humbly in the interest of learning if "times have changed" during the 25 years I've lived in Europe (perhaps they have). Still, a very pricey glass of wine considering the short pour. I will add that I bought a $150 gift card for our hosts, so I wasn't irreparably disappointed.

Enjoyed a Saturday date night here. Oysters were fresh and served with a superb mignonette. We had reservations for 8pm and were seated almost 20minutes early, though unfortunately they’d already run out of the daily special (Halibut) that I was most interested in. My partner had the seared ahai and loved it. My second choice entree was spaghetti with lobster which was well done, but not especially interesting.

Calamari appetizer was cooked perfectly! I’m tired of restaurants that over-cook calamari; Jax did it perfectly! And the crab cake appetizer was delicious as well with nearly all blue crab and very little breading; the way crab cakes are supposed to be prepared. The business colleagues visiting in town were impressed that we have such great seafood in land-locked Colorado. I had scallops as main dish and have to say best I’ve had in awhile. Been traveling to New York a lot lately for business and eating well, but the quality of the food at Jax right here in Boulder reminds me that you need not go far for good food.

Jax never disappoints. And their free bread is especially delicious and appreciated in this time of high prices and extra charges. The burrata special was delicious. My friend always enjoys the calamari. And the gumbo is out of this world.

Haven’t been to Jax in years for dinner but as always, they did not disappoint! The service was impeccable and I love the new space! We sat opposite the bar in one of the three cozy little two seater booth. Tuna, a favorite of ours was perfection! Cucumber infused vodka drink was so good!!

Food and staff was absolutely wonderful. Curry mussels were amazing and highly recommend. The Monday night happy hour menu might be the best value going in Boulder.

Excellent fresh food. Horrible service. I hope our horrible service situation was isolated to our server because the food was excellent but the service was awful. Unfortunately the poor service ruined our experience.

Extraordinary and delicious. 18th birthday party for my son with a minor glitch(we had a toddler) with the size of table and the staff was obliging and accommodated last minute in a very busy restaurant with the perfect table! The food was incredible and our excellent waiter Patricio was a blast! Thank you Jax!!!!!!

Cozy setup, perfect for date night. The mussels with white wine & garlic sauce were the highlight. Best mussels we’ve had!

Great service and oysters, although they have gotten very expensive so we ordered fewer than previously. Happy hour ends at five instead of six like most places which is a shame. Everything was good except catfish was way overcooked But we always like Jax so will continue to go.

We've been to Jax many times. The food was outstanding as always, however the service last night was lacking. Many items were out on the menu but not informed to us until some time after we ordered. Items were forget, other food items severely delayed. We will undoubtedly return but left last night a bit disappointed.

Great oysters and Halibut special, except the grittiness in the greens, clean the greens better. The chowder tasted great but be aware it is loaded with cream, doesn't sit well if you have lactose issues. Lobster roll and FF were tasty.

Service overall was slow and food was over-cooked. Had to ask multiple times for drinks. Value for what you paid, was not worth it. Won’t go back for awhile!

The food was great! I am so happy they added a vegetarian option on the menu and a tofu appetizer, kudos! I wish more of the fish entrees did not have sausage and or bacon etc… many people eat fish but not other meats and it limits the options. I love the atmosphere and the drink menu too!
