Javier’s was a lovely restaurant. The setting is quite beautiful. Delightful menu. I would highly recommend the steak, and enchilada seafood trio. Then the tres leches cake to top it off. Valet parking is right out front so you don’t have to deal with mall parking.

Very expensive. We were also celebrating a birthday and no desert offered. For the amount we paid and service was subpar.

Really nice expect our table wasn’t ready for a while. Crowded bar but to be expected on a Sat night. Where they ended up seating us was perfect.

I made the reservation and noted it was my husbands birthday and requested a standard booth. They sat us outside and we were almost touching the people beside us. My husband asked about the seating and the hostess said it’s a great view. We came there for the inside atmosphere not the lounge seating outside in the cold. The waitress didn’t introduce herself and came up and said, are you ready to order. The food didn’t come out together. Nobody mentioned my husband’s birthday. After we paid the bill I spoke to the manager about our experience and was told, sorry we are busy. I asked do you look at the comments regarding the occasion and he said yes but gave no reason why they forgot my husband’s birthday. We frequently come to Javier’s especially for lunch with clients. I told the manager that and he integrated me asking what company, as if that even matters. He was rude, condescending and seemed bother by our conversation. My husband has stage 4 prostate cancer. This is one of his last birthdays. It was ruined and we came out with such disappointment and disgust.

Margaritas were watery, food is not memorable. Staff was very concerned about turning tables and hostess was uninterested in providing directions on how to find the restaurant given poor signage and construction blocking visitors from a direct route. She did tell me she would be giving away our table if we were 15 minutes late, in spite of my call for help and to let her know we might be late since we were lost. Just an overpriced mall restaurant.

Great food and location as always. We went at an odd hour. Our server sort of disappeared and we had to ask for a couple of things twice. But overall this place doesn’t disappoint which is why we keep returning!

We had a reservation for 8:30pm, wasn’t seated until 9pm. The noise level was sooo loud, it felt like I was in a club. I think this was mainly because of the super loud music so everyone was trying to talk over it.

Food was great, server was great, but we had a 7:45 reservation and waited 30 min to get it. We also had to keep asking about it in order to get a table

Made reservation in advance for a family birthday celebration, as have previously had delicious food and great service at this location. Front desk staff were rude and unhelpful. We had a 7:00 reservation, and arrived at 6:30 to check in. Staff said we had to wait til our entire party arrived to be seated. Five of us were ready at 6:55, still refused to seat us, even with a young child who really needed to sit down. Last guest arrived at 7:10, however we were forced to wait until 7:40 to be seated. I was livid, and the over hour wait really put a damper on our celebration.

We unfortunately found a hair in our food we lost out appetite don’t think we will come back which was our very first time coming here. The restaurant it self and beautiful and amazing service from the servers!

While can be difficult to locate as there is no or small signage, alimg with very poor directions on tje locators throught the mall, it might be worth the hassle. Service was great, but they do not sing hapoy birthday, so be mindful. Overall, will return.

Javier’s is by far the best Mexican restaurant in all of San Diego! They are excellent at every aspect from the food, service and ambiance the only con against them is that it’s a bit on the high priced for Mexican food. Regardless of the price the place is outstanding. On busy times it can be very noisy.

Our daughter has celiac disease so she's not just gluten intolerant but can't have any cross contamination either. Javier's ALWAYS goes above and beyond for her. Each time we've dined there our server has offered to make her GF tortilla chips (she can't have anything that was fried in the same fryer/oil as gluten items due to cross contamination) and always tells us the wait will be about 20 minutes. During this last visit we took them up on the offer for the first time. Not only did it take less than 20 minutes, the chips were perfect. It absolutely made her entire week. We do visit often and every time we're just as impressed with the service and the food.

Service was poor. Sat at the table for over 25 minutes before placing our drink order. We had to flag a waiter over for this to happen. We were seated at a corner table on the patio, so it was easy to be overlooked and also was hard to catch a waiter’s eye.

Our server, Emily, was super attentive. The drinks and food were very delicious as well. The decor is opulent Mexican and somewhat noisy. Excellent valet car parking made the visit more pleasant. It is very expensive however.

We had a reservation for 8:30 and did not sit down until 9 pm and were rushed I ordered the fajitas and usually when I order them at Javier’s, it comes with lots of toppings and meats. The fajitas that were served had barely any meat and just had guacamole and hummus?

Food was great, as well as ambience. But we came to celebrate 2 birthdays and wrote on open table and told the hostess and it was never communicated to our waiter so there was no birthday acknowledgment or anything.

Even for a large group this is a great place. Service team is intensive, professional, and quick to get your experience going. Great drinks followed by great food. Enchiladas suizas and the carnitas are my favorite, but you can’t go wrong.

This is a happening place with a huge capacity. Food and service are fine. However, the background music is overwhelmingly loud. Don't count on any table conversation. We couldn't even hear our server speak. I think nothing would be lost if they would drop the amplified music back a few decibels. It's definitely in the range that damages hearing. I had recommended it to my family. Oops. Never again.
