The service was lacking, I think the waiter had too many tables as it was busy. They brought out fajitas with no tortillas and we had to keep asking for drink refills. The tables around us got their food before we did but we ordered before they did and all with the same waiter. For the price they charge, the server should be more attentive.

We had to wait for an hour to get in with a reservation. No one was tending to us and put off our questions with the same response.

It was a beautiful dinner. Javier’s is a must-go-to for those special occasions. Love the food. Service was great.

We had a family lunch for Mothers Day and couldn’t be more pleased with the experience. We were seated immediately despite the crowd due to Mothers Day. The ambiance was perfect with the only slight downside being the volume of the bass heavy background music. The drinks and food were top quality and the service was attentive and cheerful. We tried the Mole Poblano, Enchiladas Poblanas, & Fajitas. They were all stellar. The drinks were excellent as well although a little less ice would have been nice for a $20. Margarita. We can’t wait for an opportunity to return to try some of the other menu offerings.

Let me tell you I drove from SouthBay and Javier's did not disappoint. The Enchilada Trio was on point . The appetizers were filling and delicious. I wish I had known not to eat lunch that day and save my appetite to try more menu items. The service was amazing and our Server , Paloma, made sure were taken care of and was very attentive.

Made a reservation for 3 at 9pm … arrived on time and Was told I’d get a text when my table was ready… sat at the bar for 30 minutes never got a text, decided to order food. An hour and. Half later finished my whole dinner at the bar and never got a text for my table the whole night. Would’ve rather been told to just sit at the bar and forget about my reservation

We have gone to majority all of Javier’s locations. We love coming back due to staff always being attentive and friendly, the food is really great. I took my mom and mother in law and they were impressed. I highly recommend to dine here even just for drinks!

Food was fantastic as usual. Service impeccable. We had to wait over 45 minutes after our reservation time for a table. They had a cocktail server at the front serving drinks so that helped, but still unacceptable.

Filet mignon and tampiquena were great, the arrachera so-so. Friday night was crowded, but the service and kitchen handled it no problem.

La comida excelente si me gustó pero los precios la Verdad elevados pero si es un día especial y para salir de la rutina y visitar un lugar bonito y sentirte elegante es una buena opción

Great experience for our family of 6! The ambiance was great, beautiful restaurant, great service and delicious food. We defiantly would come back here again. The only con was that the music was really loud.

It’s was incredibly unremarkable. Poor service, over priced, food tasted like garbage, took forever to get, and the management was like oh well. Save yourself $500 and go somewhere else

Beautiful restaurant and delicious food. A wonderful place to celebrate good things in life. We would good more frequently but it is hard to get reservations . We had a quiet table but the restaurant has a a lively noise level. All was great and the waiter couldn't have been better.

I hate to say that I am very unlikely to go back to Xavier’s. I understand it may be considered fine dining. But I paid $34 for a steak quesadilla that was so small and barely had enough cheese. I would have gotten a better quesadilla at my neighborhood Mexican place for half the price. Service was descent. But the churros- so sad. Not even crispy. However, the ice cream that came with it was good.

Food was delicious as usual. The service for this visit wasn’t 100% this time. Waited a long time for refills, but may have had to do with being seated far from the center of the room.

Everything was spectacular! I wanted to bottle up the salsa and take it home, the carne asada was so flavorful and perfect with the creamy guac. My advice, eat the queso fundido before its has a chance to cool, I mean I still ate it.. because, QUESO FUNDIDO - duh. Drinks were spot on and the bill was as to be expected. I will be back!

I made reservations for 6:30 and arrived early anticipating a busy Friday night. We were finally seated after 7…….the hostesses were very RUDE and made it clear they could have cared less about us or anyone else waiting. They were unprofessional and overwhelmed…..their response to the crowd was that of an ill trained staff. Usually, we are seated immediately and the staff has always been happy and efficient. Sadly, I will hesitate to return. What has happened here?????

We made a reservation for 630p but even though we arrived 5 minutes BEFORE our reservation, we still had to wait another 45 minutes. The hostess was really rude. The food was good, and the ambiance is loud and fun, but the attitude of the hostess and the additional wait made the evening less than enjoyable.

We had a 9:30 reservation. We checked in at 9:32. The hostess told us it would be a few minutes. We had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. She let other people in before us, even though we were standing right next to the hostess desk. At one point she said just a few more minutes but then forgot about us. I do not make reservations so I can stand in my heels waiting for a seat.

Restaurant is beautiful Food is good Ambiance is great to get together with friends Service is ok The hostess people not friendly or welcoming them seems to be lost sometimes Definitely 1 star for letting you wait until your party is together to give you a table. Even if you already reserved. If you go to other restaurants in Del Mar they will give you your table right away and the employees are very polite and friendly.

Javier’s was a lovely restaurant. The setting is quite beautiful. Delightful menu. I would highly recommend the steak, and enchilada seafood trio. Then the tres leches cake to top it off. Valet parking is right out front so you don’t have to deal with mall parking.

Margaritas were watery, food is not memorable. Staff was very concerned about turning tables and hostess was uninterested in providing directions on how to find the restaurant given poor signage and construction blocking visitors from a direct route. She did tell me she would be giving away our table if we were 15 minutes late, in spite of my call for help and to let her know we might be late since we were lost. Just an overpriced mall restaurant.

Great food and location as always. We went at an odd hour. Our server sort of disappeared and we had to ask for a couple of things twice. But overall this place doesn’t disappoint which is why we keep returning!

We had a reservation for 8:30pm, wasn’t seated until 9pm. The noise level was sooo loud, it felt like I was in a club. I think this was mainly because of the super loud music so everyone was trying to talk over it.
