The fajita smoke was overwhelming. They asked us to leave (“needed the table”) after 1.5 hours. And the food was good but not great. With all the great Mexican in NY, I would not go again.

Was the perfect spot for a cold New York Sunday evening. We were warmly welcomed upon entering & then immediately got the chips & uniquely delicious salsa dip. I could’ve sat there all night eating just those! I ordered a quesadilla with brisket— which was incredibly tasty. My dinner mates each got enchiladas, which they both gobbled down. In addition to yummy food, the best parts were that we that we were treated kindly & never felt like we were annoying anyone on the wait staff. That, plus not feeling rushed were both greatly appreciated!

The waitress was friendly and food was very good. We arrived on time for our 5:00 reservations and had drinks. I thought the place was cute but overall I did feel a bit rushed. Entrees came 5 min after our appetizer arrived. At 6:20 after we literally just finished our dinner we were told they needed our table-although I saw no one waiting. I do think an hour and 15 min is a bit unreasonable-especially since our dinner and drinks were over $100-

The waitress missed a few items in our orders but it's understandable as it was a busy night. Our primary complaint has to do with the restaurant's ventilation. As it looked like a lot of people were ordering fajitas and other items that came to the table sizzling and steaming, the smokiness in the restaurant started to get thick by 7pm. Food was really good as always and the same for the drinks!

The food was excellent and not too loud. We were warned when we arrived we had the table for 90 minutes. not a big deal. Great place. Great food. Our server was wonderful. They need to serve more kinds of soup.

Well. I am pretty sure this is the worst restaurant in NYC. Their two main ingredients are cheese and grease. They don't seem to know what salt and pepper is. And let's be clear, its not the good cheese. We're talking Kraft singles. Do not even attempt.

Lots of younger folks, but overall noise level ok. Very kind and efficient service. Food plentiful but tended to be bland -- not much Mexican taste. Princes ok.

Javelina never disappoints! I was with friends visiting from out of town and we’d been there before. The queso is SO good, and we shared a few appetizers that were all delicious. Great margaritas too. Highly recommend!

When looking for great Mexican food and a great vibe in the city, Javelina is a go to! The atmosphere is fun, the food and drinks are delicious, and the service is always spectacular. I recommend having a reservation beforehand!

i ordered the chilaquiles with a side of jalapenos & chorizo, hold the chorizo but was basically served nachos - when i inquired as to the eggs, the server said he'd misunderstood my "no faces" request and assumed I meant no eggs. i then asked for eggs that i could mix in with my nachos which he brought me but then ALSO charged me for a side of eggs (plus the full price of the chilaquiles)

Restaurant was a little noisy, we sat outside, which was definitely more pleasant. Food was tex mex as advertised, so not very innovative but tasty. Margaritas were delicious, as were the churros. Overall a pleasant evening

Food took forever to come and server dropped our check mid bite because of a reservation on the table. I totally get it, but there were empty tables all over the restaurant and no one waiting at the door. Just felt rushed and I won’t be back anytime soon.

Great service and menu in general. The only caveat was that it was so deafeningly loud inside, we had to sit outside amid unpleasant humidity just to have a civilized conversation. Perhaps it's actually quieter indoors on a weekend?
