I think the waiter was having an off night. The beans and rice he didn’t get right, never received the second drink and ordered food to go and received the wrong order. I should have checked before leaving the restaurant but didn’t notice until I was home. I would go back but maybe sit at the bar next time.

Shrimp Fajitas are very, very good. Chips, salsa, queso all are awesome. I don’t think you will find better in NYC Margaritas are fantastic. Great service I will definitely be back

Legit, if not one of the only Tex-Mex places in the city with credible queso, queso blanco, real Tex-Mex style chips and salsa... My go-to when I crave Tex-Mex. I am from Texas and it has always been a struggle to find genuine places in NYC. Grateful for Javelina's.

This place was so great! We are from Texas, so it was nice to have a taste of home while on our trip. Staff was so friendly, and service was awesome! Food was delicious! Brisket tacos don’t disappoint.

The entire staff was unbelievable - very engaging, friendly and gave amazing recommendations. The El Pastor tacos and the chicken tortilla soup are must haves!!! Our waitress, Michah, was outstanding!

This Tex-Mex restaurant is basically mediocre. We had a very nice server but that’s really the best thing about our evening there. I was with one other person and we shared vegetable fajitas and the guacamole appetizer. The guacamole was good, but the chips were not great. We also ordered the crudites and that was nicely cut, and certainly satisfied crunch. The vegetables were plentiful, but they tasted like they had been washed with soap and not rinsed very well, and otherwise had no other seasoning. They gave a very small portion of pico de gallo, sour cream, and a bit more guacamole, which in this case was brown. They said the corn tortillas were homemade, it was hard to tell, but they did give you five, I believe, with the order. The person I was with had a prickly pear margarita, which she said was delicious. The place itself is very drab, looks like a diner, but without any tex mex charm. Bathrooms were not clean, but not necessarily filthy. Although I think the true test is when you can see that the outside bottom of the toilet was never cleaned so that means the person cleaning it was not thorough. I don’t know if I would ever go back there again

We came here right at the start of happy hour on a Friday and received the best service from Patti! She was extremely attentive and friendly, and kept our drinks coming. The food and drinks were excellent- in the five years we have been coming to Javelina (at both locations) the food has been consistently amazing.

I had walked past several times and always told myself I needed to try it sometime. I’m happy I did. Javelina will now be a go-to for sure. Beautiful interior, casual & fun atmosphere, knowledgeable + friendly service, and delicious food.
