This place has excellent opitions for vegetarians and meat eaters, alike. My date and I shared the pot roast, chicken schnitzel, greens with fava beans, onion rings, and the crab devilled eggs to start with warm sourdough bread. I can't wait to return and enjoy another blue cheese olive martini which was prepared with gin, as I requested. The service was also exceptional.

Customer for a very long time. Loyal to Jar. Even during Covid we ordered to go many times. Food was always phenomenal. This visit. was my birthday treat for a dear friend. She and her husband are also Jar devotees. She and I agreed that the food was underwhelming. We questioned what was happening in that kitchen that night. Our wedge salad, duck fried rice, and wine was great. Rest of the meal, especially the soft shell crabs, awful. Service, as always, excellent. We’ve never, not once, had a bad meal at Jar. Quite the opposite. So, we are considering it a one-off. Something or someone wasn’t firing on all cylinders in that kitchen on this night.

Great food. Expensive, but pleasant dining experience. Good choices on the menu. Will definitely recommend this restaurant.

I had not been here in a while, and dinner on Mother's Day was fabulous. The room is wood clad and pleasant. The service and the food was fabulous. We had the squash blossom appetizer, steak, braised short rib, with asparagus and creamed corn sides. Finished the meal with banana cream pie for dessert. We were even greeted by the owner Suzanne Tracht as she was near the hostess when we arrived. Once you have been here, you realize why Jar has become a Los Angeles institution over the last 20+ years in business.

One of the worst evenings ever. We were a party of 4 and suddenly 40 to 50 college students arrived to celebrate. The noise level was unbelievable. We could not even finish our dinner. When I complained the host did not even offer to comp us a drink or dessert. We are long time patrons but we will not come here again.
