My husband took me to J. Theodore’s for a breakfast on Mother’s Day. What could have been a nice quiet breakfast on a rainy day, was not. Instead, we walked in and were seated in the main dining area. It was extraordinarily loud with rock music. My husband went to the hostess and asked if they had someplace quieter. She directed us to another room off the main area. We were seated at a nice little table by a window. It was quieter initially in that room. As time went on the music increased in volume. Fortunately, we were about ready to leave. We will not be going back to J. Theodore.

The food was excellent and the service was terrific. We sat on the peaceful patio expecting to hear the wonderful guitar player. That was our only disappointment!

Would have thought having a nice 40th birthday dinner would have been more of an experience or more enjoyable. The food was not on par. My order was taken wrong, the service was off, the “filet” was over done and the cut was sirloin. Just sad.

Amazing experience! Our waiter, Seth, was top notch and took the BEST care of us. He was knowledgeable about the menu, had excellent food and beverage recommendations, and even offered to take a pic for us. The food was fresh delicious, and expertly prepared, and they even brought me out a sparkler mini-cake for my birthday. Will definitely be back!

Amazing from the first step in the door!! Music played by a dj that had the perfect tunes spinning. Truffle fries app was finger licking good. Split the breakfast tacos and chicken biscuit sandwich with my girls. We couldn’t decide which entree was better!! Definitely coming back!! Server was attentive and a cutie to boot! ;)

We had the Jar of Lobster, Short Rib Gnocchi, Chicken Pasta Dish, Shrimp Taco Salad, and a few different adult drinks, and everything was amazing. We even went to the Speakeasy next door before leaving and it was great, too!

Too much background sound. I am hard of hearing I had scallopes which were great. I would prefer a lemon caper sauce. Balsalmic sauce is too sweet for my taste. I do not like anything sweet on my entrees. This is far too common lately.

My friends French Dip was very disappointing. Hardly and meat on the sandwich and the “dip” tasted like onion soup. I wanted the club sandwich on croissant (served at lunch) and was told they wouldn’t make anything on the lunch menu at dinner. There were many lunch items on the dinner menu. This has always been a favorite lunch place but I doubt I will dine there again for dinner.

I would recommend J. Theodore's except for the noise level. Why do you need a DJ at all, especially in the morning for brunch? People really do like to enjoy the company they are sitting with, and do not enjoy having to yell to their tablemates. I have heard that it is impossible to hear in your restaurant at night...won't be joining you then.

The hostess and I assume was the owner maybe manager , set the tone from the moment we walked through the door. The owner maybe manager was just awkwardly looking at us, but never said anything, and the hostess rudely asked how long we planned to stay, because they had a reservation set for that table in an hour and half. Mind you, we didn’t just walk in, we had reservations ourselves. Never encountered that, but obviously management doesn’t care or train staff. Was sat at a wobbly old dirty table, and the walls had chipped paint everywhere. I don’t believe that’s a planned look, it’s just cheap ownership not wanting to do touch ups. The food was way over priced for the quality of what they served. The salad was just the spring mix you can buy at Kroger. The steak used to top that salad was very small and the little that was there was about 80% straight fat. The French dip was disappointing. Felt like I just spent $30 for subpar bread with melted cheese , because that “prime rib” used was only two tablespoons worth. Overall, just go somewhere else. Save your money, but more importantly save your time.

The service was impeccable. The food was not. We ordered a flatbread and a salmon risotto entree'. The first salmon came out cooked well done and burnt on the outside. They offered medium as the house option and we gladly accepted but the salmon was over done. The sauces were just too liberally spread on everything. Same with the flatbread. The drinks in the speak easy were elite. The service back there was also elite. I'm not sure about the kitchen here.

Take the pass on J Theodore. It’s not what it used to be. Food was overpriced and generic including a biscuit board of 4 Pillsbury biscuits with no flavor butter and jam. I almost laughed when it came out it was so unappealing. Our server was unfriendly and we couldn’t win him over to niceness no matter what we tried. Everything was overpriced. Glory days for this place are in the past.

We requested a different seating option and were told they were booked. We watched others be accommodated. Plus the restaurant was barely at 50% capacity when we left.

Enjoyed a wonderful dining experience with attentive service without being overbearing. The food was delicious from the brussel sprout appetizer to the short ribs and gnocchi. Highly recommend!

Went for a Birthday Brunch and it was wonderful. Great server, food as excellent but the busier it got, the louder it was! I think the DJ even got louder. Everything was great except it was loud. We’ll be back again!

My daughter and I had brunch here. Jesus was our server. He was very prompt, courteous and friendly. I had the BLT and my daughter had the avocado toast. Both were excellent. We will definitely be going back!

Another terrible experience here. We went to both bars including the signature speakeasy bar. It is hard to rate service when they don’t provide ANY. we were lucky to get water. Not even that busy and we never were offered a drink. Bar tenders were too busy talking to other servers then making drinks for other tables while we were at the bar. After 20 minutes total we just left and went to Bottles and Bond which is in the same parking lot. Had my drink and finished it faster than my total time at J. Theodore. Too many other good places in the north metro to go to. After five years of going here I can say we won’t be back to this place for their terrible service !
