There sashimi moriawase (sampler) for 2 was fabulous. Beautifully presented and more than enough to feed 3-4 people. Very attentive without being intrusive. BYOB

We had an enjoyable dinner. Food was excellent and service equally wonderful. Love the BYOB and sharing with everyone. Fresh fish and Uni was melt in your mouth.

J-shop is a Japanese grocery with a small dining area. It is most like a close neighborhood eatery. The food was fresh and quite good with a more extensive menu than I would have thought. The service was highly attentive and supportive. The location is not well identified from the street or the unlighted parking lot. This is not a restaurant for a typical tourist. That being said, I would feel comfortable recommending this restaurant to someone desiring authentic Japanese cuisine. without a "fine dining" experience.

best meal i had in Oahu. Excellent value. The only negative is somewhat hard to communicate to waitresses. So prepare to be patient, it is worth it

Exquisitely prepared food combining flavors in a way that highlights the quality of individual ingredients while balancing textures for a very satisfying mouthfeel. Chef displayed his thoughtfulness as each item on a sushi sampler my wife & I shared was cut in half without even being asked to do this for us. Wait staff's quite attentive and showed immense patience in helping our party decide from a wide menu which was surprising as this restaurant being such a humble setting.
