Food was great. They are very nice. Just slow service. We asked for salt and pepper and we were finished with our food before it came. There was only one person on staff so it's possible they were just shortsaffed

Do not overlook this Italian Restaurant ! The food was simply outstanding and the service was amazing. Flavors and presentation were exceptional. I have dined in some of the finest Italian restaurants and Ippolitos could hold their own against any of them. Do yourself a favor and try this place.

So we arrived to a nearly empty spot at 6 PM but it did quickly fill up. Appreciated the server who was very helpful with recommendations. We tried three appetizers (burrata, stuffed fried ravioli & garlic bread). Recommend a hard pass on the garlic bread; too soggy. Tried the spaghetti salsiccia (extra spicy) and chicken parm for our mains. Both mains were tasty but not for the price charged. Overall we found the spot to be okay but agreed we would not be making a point of returning.

We went here for Valentine's Day and had a nice night. It was clear they were very understaffed but this is an owner/managerial issue. The staff was struggling to stay on top with their tasks because the place was packed but they did so with a huge smile on their place and were so apologetic throughout. The food is fantastic so it saved what could have otherwise been a problem night. We would go back but probably not for a busy night like Valentine's Day

Only 3 people working for a fairly busy night so understandable that service was slow but attentive and friendly. I find it hard to be critical when a restaurant is operating with such low staff. The food was quite good and might come back to try the eggplant.

What a wonderful night out. Been wanting to try this restaurant out and finally got around to it. So sad we didn’t get to it sooner. The staff were amazing. The Chef/owner came out and greeted the tables. So much food, our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. We will definitely be back.

Excellent food, friendly service with the right proportions of attentiveness and polite distance. Salad courses were an artwork all by themselves, but the main courses, with in house made pasta, were truly five star level. Both of the wines selected seemed freshly decanted and of good quality. We were too full (!) to be able to enjoy the offered as included minestrone or to choose desserts, but, judging from the other items, they were likely to be as well prepared as everything else. Strong positive recommendation for Ippolitos 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I love this place and this is the second time I have gone back. They have some amazing appetizers such as deep fried raviolis that are out of this world. The portions are very large and very reasonably priced. The cook came out to talk to us at our table just to see how we liked it and how we were doing and shared some secrets and information about what they do and was very cordial and friendly. The staff is very friendly and it’s in a nice out-of-the-way location near my house with no traffic issues normally. This will definitely be one of my new go to places. I recommend it to anyone who loves a good Italian restaurant.

Elijah, our server, was fantastic! On a busy Wednesday night, he manned the FOH with ease-and some help from the owner, I think. The food was amazing as usual. My husband and I started with the fried rav (so yum!), and I had the half spinach salad with strawberries and walnuts (delicious). Our entrees were the lasagne and chicken parm-beyond amazing!!

Our server, Elijah, was amazing. He was attentive, thoughtful and professional. Unfortunately, the food was not very good. Chicken and salmon were very, very dry; mashed potatoes were gray and scooped onto the plate like ice cream, sauces were broken and oily and the pasta was stodgy. The salad greens were slimy and the calamari tasted like rubber bands tossed in unseasoned flour. I’m having a hard time understanding the rave reviews but I also recognize that sometimes a big greasy, creamy, salty bowl of pasta hits the spot for people.

Though I grew up in the area, I left over 60 years ago so am not very familiar with the current dining scene. I was looking for a nice restaurant in Southeast Sacramento out of the downtown area. Open Table did not let me down! We were the last customers to arrive due to our late arriving flight at SMF but we were warmly greeted and seated. The three of us in the party split the Prosciutto Gamberoni appetizer, prawns wrapped in prosciutto. It was unique, tasty and well presented. We each had different entrees, Spaghetti Salsiccia, Caserecce Gamberetti, and Eggplant Parmesan. All were excellent, generously portioned and very reasonably priced. The only adverse comment was that the eggplant was a bit tough. We combined our leftovers 2 nights later and it was excellent again (and the eggplant was not tough). As we were finishing, Chef/Owner Nicholas Ippolito came to our table to introduce himself and inquire about our satisfaction. His passion for cooking and interest in pleasing his customers was plainly evident. We did not look at the wine list, as we brought our own, and the $15 corkage was also reasonable. The restaurant is relatively new and will likely only improve with time. I gave the restaurant a 4 for ambiance only because it is located in a strip mall though it's decor is not unpleasant and seating is quite comfortable.

I come from an area with a large Italian population. We have some iconic Italian food. When I rolled the dice and chose this place on a recent business trip. I struck gold. In an out of the way strip mall with nothing fancy for decorations. But the food is high end without the large price tag. If you are in any way an intake an food fan, you owe it to yourself to come here. If you are a local. This is your once a week quick dinner spot. You will eat like a king for extremely reasonable prices. Veal Picata was a highlight. Will come again. Well done chef. Well done.

Wonderful meal. We had eaten here once and brought another couple with us because our first visit was so good. Everything was perfect (except they had run out of Chardonnay). The food, presentation, and service were all terrific, and the desserts, with Ippolito inscribed on the plate in powdered sugar, were outstanding. Try this hidden gem. You won’t be disappointed.

Our family enjoyed yet another delicious meal at Ippolitos. Seriously flavorful food. We loved everything from the calamari appetizer, through the minestrone, garlic bread and all five pasta dishes. We have to save room for dessert next time. It's a great new addition to Sacramento dining.
