insideOUT is Hillcrest's elevated restaurant and lounge and San Diego's only urban oasis! We are an 18+ venue.

The menu is curated by Executive Chef Johnny Duran and is updated seasonally to reflect his creative approach to California-Mediterranean inspired fare, using the freshest ingredients provided by our local purveyors.

insideOUT is known for its elevated experiences where guests immerse themselves with our spectacular installations designed and built by our talented team. We provide customized private event planning with venue buy-out options.

insideOUT is pleased to bring back our Spring Oasis Experience, March 19th - May 12th.

Please note: Any outdoor reservations for the Spring Oasis Experience are subject to change due to weather. Be sure to verify your source of confirmation for up-to-date information.

Due to the high demand of RSVP’s during the experience, no alternate date or reschedule will be available. Walk-ins at a future date are encouraged.

    The best thing about this place is the ambiance. The patio is beautifully designed, and the atmosphere is energetic. The servers and the rest of the staff are very welcoming, friendly, and attentive. Now, when it comes to the food and drinks, I really wanted the place to be amazing. Unfortunately, it was disappointing. The cocktails were watered down, and the best dish I had was a dessert dish - donuts that tasted fresh and delicious. However, all the savory dishes were way below average. To be honest, I had airplane food that tasted better! I hope they work on improving the kitchen staff and their menu.

    The place is vibrant and fabulous, our server was perfect and bubbly and fun , right on task , he made sure we where taking care all the time , lovely experience, will repeat and recommend !!!

    Tuesday date night, had a wonderful experience. We love the filet mignon, bbq shrimp, golden nut salad and chips and dip. The staff was top notch and taook care of us well. If there is one complaint, it would be the loud music. But that’s just my preference. Definitely a nice place to hang out with friends . Thank you

    We went for a birthday celebration. The arugula and beet salad that all three of us had was delicious. The appetizer prawns with potatoes were spicy and full of taste. One friend enjoyed the tomato soup and the other loved the crispy potatoes and fresh bread. The waiter was friendly and brought a nice dessert for the birthday girl! We will be back!

    Extremely Disappointed! We were sat top middle area directly in Sun, we were given metal square tables that were missing paint and a round table that was missing a chunk of metal (I took pictures). We weren't able to keep our cells phone on the table because they became very hot. We noticed lack of diversity; all waiters and hostess were Caucasian. Seemed that the vibe was downstairs closer to the main entrance. Maybe this restaurant is not that bad but for first impressions it was horrible. Will be leaving other reviews elsewhere. This was a special occasion, and it was noted when I made reservations, yet no one there bothered.

    The food and service was great! I only wish we had been able to move to the outside area where there was more ambience since it looked like there were open tables.

    Very pleasant experience and a great ambiance. If you’re looking to disappear from all of your worries, enjoy great conversation, and chill with that special someone. This is the place for you. Service was amazing and it set the tone for a great evening in San Diego. We will definitely be back.

    I was really looking forward to the food. Specially with items priced so steep. I had the braised beef & my friend had the pork chop. The overall taste was salt. Everything was extremely salty and the seasoning was just not good. I had like 2 bites and didn’t ask for a TOGO box because it was just awful. I strongly suggest someone goes over that menu! The best part was the Caesar salad. Which shouldn’t be better than a $40 entree…
