Il Toscano means “The Tuscan”, and is a perfect representation of everything I am, and all that I love about my home land in Italy. My name’s Matteo – head pasta maker, chef and owner of il Toscano. I was born and raised in the countryside of Tuscany, and although I’ve now lived in Australia for over 6 years, my passion for all things Italian has never been stronger. Nor has my passion for sharing it with Australia and the Central Coast. I noticed that while there are a lot of outlets serving Italian food up here, they’re largely not hitting the mark when it comes to quality, authenticity and value for money. My wife Laura and I became so tired of being disappointed every time we ordered food out, that we decided to take matters into our own hands.

Great Italian pasta would highly recommend. Not a fan of their Garlic Bread but everything else we ate was great.

Il Toscano is my new favourite restaurant. Such friendly staff, quick service, and the reason we go—the food! So delicious. I tried to get from them the source of their olive oil ... to no avail, lol. It's a secret—one that keeps us coming, as well as the deliciousness of ALL meals. Thank you, Il Toscano—we appreciate the hard work you put into making us happy!

All pastas were delicious - came out hot and fairly quickly. It's our favorite restaurant by far in all of Terrigal.

My husband and I were there to celebrate his 64th birthday never being there before it was a surprise and delight the service was good the food was plentiful the atmosphere was calm and refreshing. We will definitely book again

Honestly the best restaurant on the coast. We had such an amazing night. Food and service is top notch! We dined for the steak special night and it was so good my partner had to clean the bone. Staff are always lovely and friendly and their pastas are the best!

Excellent all round. All pasta dishes on the menu. Easy and plenty to choose from. flavours were superb. Restaurant was packed and this added to the ambience. Staff very friendly. Typical cosy Italian restaurant. We will be back.

Il Tosacano Terrigal is a stand out. So welcoming on arrival, nothing was too much trouble. Quality of food is amazing and their wine selection fantastic. Highly recommend for a date night, family night, friends catch up, suits everybody.

The food was very good and fresh. The burrata cheese was excellent as is the selection of fresh pastas. This was my second time and I reordered the Casarecce Arrabbiata as it was so yummy. The staff is a bit rushed and could be a little more attentive. It’s not air conditioned so it does get quite hot in the restaurant as it’s a very small space and kitchen is in the back. It’s also noisy. Lastly, because we did not order dessert, we were told we had to give up our table after 1.5 hours which we found a bit rude. That being said, I still recommend this place as the pasta is that good and it’s really hard to find good Italian on the coast.

Hi Mary, Thank you very much for your feedback. I am so happy you enjoyed our food and your recommendation! I just wanted to take advantage from your comment in order to provide right information to the future guests. At this moment we don’t have AC available as from our description on our booking system. However, it will be available soon. Also, as from our description on our booking system all guests has 1.5 hour time for the experience. This is certainly not being rude but because we had other guests who would like to taste our food and have a nice experience. Apologies for that. They got my order wrong and instead of offering to remake it as per the order, they just placed it in front of me and gave me some Parmesan on the side to compensate?? They really should have just remade it or offered to remake it as per my order, it ended up just being bland garlic spaghetti with the stuff up.

Service was great, food was great. Thankyou!! Was a little noisy now that they have moved to where there are other restaurants as we sat outside. But noise mainly come from the takeaway chicken shop next door.
