Il Toscano means “The Tuscan”, and is a perfect representation of everything I am, and all that I love about my home land in Italy. My name’s Matteo – head pasta maker, chef and owner of il Toscano. I was born and raised in the countryside of Tuscany, and although I’ve now lived in Australia for over 6 years, my passion for all things Italian has never been stronger. Nor has my passion for sharing it with Australia and the Central Coast. I noticed that while there are a lot of outlets serving Italian food up here, they’re largely not hitting the mark when it comes to quality, authenticity and value for money. My wife Laura and I became so tired of being disappointed every time we ordered food out, that we decided to take matters into our own hands.

We are an artisan pasta bar, specialising in traditional & inspired recipes from our home land of Tuscany. All our pasta is made fresh in-house using 100% semolina flour from Tamworth and pasteurised egg yolks. We welcome you to our little piece of Italy on the Coast. Buon Appetito!

                                                        Going to II Toscano for our Date night was perfect. A lovely ambience, the staff were great and friendly and the food was sooooo delicious.

                                                        Toscano was such an accomodating place to eat. As a coeliac they had gluten free pasta and even were kind enough to give me olives when the rest of my table had garlic bread. They were very kind and accomodating, would certainly visit again.

                                                        Great Italian pasta would highly recommend. Not a fan of their Garlic Bread but everything else we ate was great.

                                                        Il Toscano is my new favourite restaurant. Such friendly staff, quick service, and the reason we go—the food! So delicious. I tried to get from them the source of their olive oil ... to no avail, lol. It's a secret—one that keeps us coming, as well as the deliciousness of ALL meals. Thank you, Il Toscano—we appreciate the hard work you put into making us happy!
