Il Toscano means “The Tuscan”, and is a perfect representation of everything I am, and all that I love about my home land in Italy.

My name’s Matteo – head pasta maker, chef and owner of il Toscano. I was born and raised in the countryside of Tuscany, and although I’ve now lived in Australia for over 9 years, my passion for all things Italian has never been stronger.

Nor has my passion for sharing it with Australia and the Central Coast. I noticed that while there are a lot of outlets serving Italian food up here, they’re largely not hitting the mark when it comes to quality, authenticity and traditional local Tuscan food.

Our mission is to bring people together for an amazing Italian experience with good food, wine and good times and share with you my strong passion and our local traditional cuisine as if you were in Tuscany.

We are an artisan pasta bar, specialising in traditional & inspired recipes from our home land of Tuscany. All our pasta is made fresh in-house using 100% semolina flour from Tamworth and pasteurised egg yolks. We welcome you to our little piece of Italy on the Coast. Buon Appetito!

                                                    Delicious food and lovely ambiance, loved the wine, though a little expensive for the wine, great value for the home made pasta dishes. Staff were attentive ,friendly and very knowledgeable. My second time dining here and I will definitely be back. I will also call in for takeaway.

                                                    Food was delicious, staff were friendly & attentive. Nice atmosphere, not too load. Tiramisu was awesome. Highly recommend a visit.

                                                    The pasta and breads were absolutely amazing. The staff were friendly, efficient and very welcoming. The restaurant was lovely and the whole dining experience was very enjoyable. A lovely place to dine at with lovely food .

                                                    Was expecting more from a traditional Italian restaurant. The pasta was gluggy and did not have a pleasant taste at all. It was oily and so not worth the money. It was expensive for what we received. I will not go there again. I make better Italian.
