Food was very good, but service is the star here. The staff makes you feel as if you're the most important table in the place. In a city like New York where it's 'hit or miss' these days with service, Il Tonello delivers on providing an experience commensurate with the price.

From the warm greeting when arriving to the service and food everything was superb. Drinks and desert were wonderful too. Certainly our goto place in Manhattan.

First went about a month ago. Back last night. Quaint little Italian restaurant. Food is EXCEPTIONAL, service very attentive. Restaurant can be loud and it is a tad expensive, but seriously a wonderful meal. Had the best veal chop I have had in I can't even remember. Definitely will return again. And again.

This place is a gem. Benny greets you warmly upon arrival and you immediately feel like you’re at home. The restaurant itself is intimate and the food is always amazing. If you haven’t been to this place yet, please give it a try…I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Charming, small Italian in Turtle Bay. Benny Bello is a great host. Hospitable and generous. Couldn't thank us enough for coming. A rarity among restauranteurs. Quick drink at the bar. Generous offering of complimentary snacks/appetizers before ordering. Food is good, not fantastic. Generous portions. Zabaglione at $23.00 per person is a bit steep for what you get. But the overall experience is a very enjoyable evening out. Service is great, Free grappa after supper is always appreciated. A neighborhood gem.

Benny (the owner) is an excellent host. He and his staff made us feel extremely comfortable, as if we'd been going there for years. He even gave us a drink on the house for being a neighbor. This will definitely be a staple for nights out. Great for date nights or family get-togethers.

I am in NYC celebrating the birth of my first grandchild. I enjoyed a wonderful dinner around Il Tinello’s on Wednesday and ate there 2 of the next 3 nights. The food is amazing as the table made Caesar salad is a perf Dr start to dinner. I have enjoyed two pastas and the risotto with shrimp and can’t wait to get back to try more. As great as the food is, the atmosphere is even better and the owner Benny is personable and warm and makes every guest feel special. I can’t say enough good things about this special restaurant and look forward to enjoying many meals in the future. John Gallop
