One of my favorite places in town… the sauces are all so fresh and insane… and whatever they’re doing in the pizza oven and grill is remarkable. I’m not sure there’s a place in Nashville that compares for a fine night out.

We tried this restaurant for the first time and it was amazing! The Food was super delicious! I’m originally from Germany and tasting real authentic Italian food was a wonderful treat. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend checking it out

We were not sure why this restaurant took reservations. We waited almost 45 beyond our reservation time. They also jammed a table against ours to fit people in, making it hard to get in and out. The food and service was mediocre. Overall, I was hoping for a great experience, but it was just okay.

First time coming here. The food and server were really good but I could tell the kitchen was really backed up and it took a long time to get our food. Hopefully they can work that out, and I’d come back.

It wasn’t our first time at IL Forno, and we love this place. Staff is really nice, we had a reservation at 7:30 but arrived at 7 and they sat us immediately which was very appreciated but we waited 20 minutes to be greeted. I get that they were super busy but I wish our server stopped by for 1 second to acknowledge us and give us some water at least. No apologies for the delay, but overall the service was great. Our waitress was really nice, and the food came out super quick and it was delicious. We will be back!

Great food! Decent size menu with several specials. Small wine list but it works. Fun atmosphere but loud. Note, the patio is a concrete space tented with plastic sides. Sit inside. Will definitely return.

I asked for a romantic table for my spouse’s birthday, and we were seated outside. It was fine, but we were in a sketch part of town where anyone could walk up, though no one did. It just didn’t feel as nice as the prices would indicate, but it was a good experience and good food.

Overall wonderful experience as always. Ambiance was wonderful, and food was even better. Love that the owner is there and always willing to come by and say hello. If you’re looking for Italian in Nashville, give this place a chance!

Our first visit here was quite good, the next, not so much. Very expensive food that was lackluster at best. We were seated not in the restaurant (where I had booked), but in a makeshift covered area, basically in the car park - on a cold night. Service was poor, possibly due to us - you know - being in the car park. Shame, some of the food at least on paper, seems good. Won't be going back.

We arrived with a reservation and had to wait 35 minutes, tried to order 2 different wines and were out of it, only most expensive one was available, one appetizer and one entree were also out. Never offered anything for the inconvenience. Just ok last night

The only thing is I would not have 8:45 reservations available if the kitchen closes about 15 minutes in so you have to rush. Great food and experience just wouldn’t have that time available.

I would have given our dining experience a 5, but we had a dinner reservation for 7:30 and were not seated until almost 8:30. Apparently they had booked more reservations than they could handle that evening. It was annoying to have to wait an hour. The place was packed and there were a lot of people waiting on their reservations to be seated too. With that being said. Once seated, our server was exceptional and food as always oh so good! I just hope they figure out their reservation schedule as this place is not very big & outdoor seating was not available this particular night even though it was a nice night outside.

This was our second time at the restaurant, beautiful and full of ambience with a professional staff and definitely a crowded place full of life. It is very challenging to hear your party even sitting across from you. The architecture and building materials combined with layout did not take into consideration for noise reduction, there are no “noise reduction” features. If you get over stimulated definitely stay away, as well if you are trying to have long conversations sober. My party struggled to hold a conversation just because I couldn’t hear anything from across from them. I would guess alcohol consumption would dampened this being an issue for other attendees. Our reservation was at 7:45 pm, we arrived at 7:33, and we were not seated until 8:35 pm. We were patient but the issue was accompanied by other patrons very upset, which just makes for a hostile environment. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable about each daily special, quick and on top of drinks and communication, once we were seated. The kitchen staff clearly were working hard as you could see how quickly they were moving around and trying to keep the operation afloat. Presentation was nice, menu options were great, I would be completely transparent and share that the quality of the cuisine does not Always match the price on the menu. The pizza seems to be priced appropriately. I would rate food 7/10.

I’m sure the food is great. But there was nearly an hour wait even though we had RESERVATIONS and arrived on time. There were also about 20 others with reservations who were already waiting when we got there. In the words of the hostess, on Fridays you have to wait even with reservations. Calls to mind the Seinfeld bit: “See, you know how to take the reservation, you just don’t know how to hold the reservation and that’s really the most important part of the reservation, the holding. Anybody can just take them.” After 30 minutes, we bailed and went elsewhere.

Amazing find. The food was incredible. We made a reservation thru open table but it was very busy when we got there (holidays) and people were taking their time at the tables, so the wait was around 40 minutes, which made us at first a bit annoyed, but as soon as we sat down, the owner came over with a complementary garlic bread appetizer that was delicious and apologized for he wait. The server we had was fabulous. Try the panna cotta for desert, really good. Or the chocolate cake which is a nice personal size and amazingly delicious. Highly recommend.

Our second visit. No disappointments. Seated exactly at our RSVP time at a table location we requested. Nick, our server, was outstanding. Our cocktails, wine and entrees were extraordinary: Limoncello martinis, a nice Pinot Grigio and seared scallops served on a wonderful risotto! Can’t wait to return!
