    This is a lovely restaurant near the Tower Bridge on Capital Ave. It is spacious but has some smaller rooms in addition to the main dining area. There is a full bar, a limited menu with multiple price levels, and professional staff. I had the mixed grill which was really good. My friend had the lasagna which arrived piping hot, was rich, and enough for two meals. My only complaint is the bang of dishes from the kitchen, which is open to the main dining area. This was not clatter of dishes, it was a loud bang every few minutes or so. Will go again.

    No service for the first 15 minutes. Finally had to ask a hostess to find a server for us. Also, the light from the setting sun was a problem for us as well as other diners around us. You should get some better window shades and fix this issue once and for all. Finally, our validated parking ticket would not work. We had to call building security to help us get out of the garage.

    We celebrated our son’s birthday, and had overall good experience. The only sticking point was that we kept waiting for our server for 20 minutes after getting our table. It seems like they were slight short on staff. Other than that we enjoyed our drinks, food, and dessert on the house.

    Great food. Sit in enclosed patio if you can. Ceilings are lower and it's lovely in the springtime.

    We have enjoyed the Il Fornaio experience in San Diego, Carmel, Walnut Creek, San Francisco, Roseville and Sacramento many many times. The reason we return is lovely surroundings, delicious meals, and consistently, friendly, and impeccable service

    The food and the service was excellent. I asked for a different table for noise purposes and they easily were able to reseat us which was appreciated.

    We have been going to Il Fornaio for more years than I can count. It is a beautiful restaurant which is ordinarily a good value for a quality Italian meal. This time fell far short of meeting our expectations. We had a 6:30 reservation on Mother’s Day. First they seated us by a serving station when there were other tables available. Then our server came over and immediately informed us that they were out of bread and as a result also did not have bruschetta available. We love Il Fornaio’s bread service. They were known for their bakery. To run out of bread that early in the evening is poor food management. We know it is Mother’s Day but that should mean you plan accordingly. To add insult to injury our server was very flip with the issue and was more concerned with how he had to work that day. There was no apology, no offer to make things right. Needless to say we are extremely disappointed.
