    Amazing experience! We were there last night and everything (especially our server, Ricardo) was amazing so we went back tonight! Highly recommend all around!!

    Always on our list of eateries when we are in Coronado. Food, service and ambience are always good and servers like Paul are a major reason why. They are pet friendly on the patio and within an easy walk from the Marriott Resort where we generally stay. I tried the tagliatelle with bolognese which was very good and a calamari appetizer. My wife always picks the salmon here and while it tasted great she was disappointed that the new chef had added a lemon sauce which she would have preferred to leave off.

    We chose Il Fornaio to celebrate 4 milestone birthdays with family visiting us from the East Coast. They seated us in the outside covered patio with a spectacular view of San Diego Bay (as we had requested). It was a bit cool but we have overhead heaters keeping us comfortable. The champagne, wine, appetizers, food, dessert and coffee were very good. The atmosphere noise level could have been lower but nothing to complain about. Alvaro took care of us and was very attentive to our needs. We had a memorable experience.

    My husband and I had reservations on Sunday at 7:30pm. When I made the reservation through OpenTable, I put in the notes field about no nuts, seeds (sesame, poppy…) & no berries (straw, blue, rasp…). I have diverticulitis. I have never had an issue with a restaurant not seeing these special notes and they seem to confirm the notes with us. Our server came to our table, my husband and I both ordered and relayed to our server about no nuts or seeds. I ordered the ravioli with butternut squash and I asked for no amaretto crumbs because those are made from almonds. Plate came out with no crumbs. After the first ravioli I was noticing something small and crunchy in the filling. I asked the server, when she finally came back to our table, and she went to the kitchen to find out what it was. She came back saying they were pieces of WALNUTS!!! Nowhere on the menu did it mention walnuts or any kind of nut was in that dish. She said she didn’t know and something about the ravioli dishes being “strange”. I then ordered a margarita pizza; NOT worth the money. Cheap pizza and it didn’t even have mozzarella chunks on it. I could have gotten better pizza from my bowling alley. The server then came over and asked if I would like chili flakes for my pizza. I said no, those are seeds, too. The waiter at the next table came over to check on us when he noticed I was upset and our server WASN’T checking on us in a timely manner. My husband spoke to the manager about it after we paid and on our way out. He didn’t seem to care. Very sad with the experience we had. It was our last night in San Diego and we were so disappointed.

    Went here while vacationing on Coronado Island with our family. We sat outside and the temperature was perfect with the heaters that the restaurant provided. Servicewas good, not spectacular, but good. Waitress was friendly, but felt she could’ve checked in with us a little more often. Food and value were both outstanding.

    This was our first time eating here and oh my god! every dish was absolutely PERFECT!!! i got the rigatoni allá vodka and it was creamy and sooo fresh. my husband got the lasagna and he loved it. their pastas are handmade and you can definitely tell by the freshness with each dish. our server was amazing as well and i wish i could remember her name to give her a shoutout but everyone there was so kind and helped our anniversary dinner great. we will be coming back soon.
