This beautiful restaurant is a short walk away from Madison Square Park, Il Fiorista means The Florist in Italian, where we explore botanical ingredients in our brunch, dinner, and bar menus. Much like Italian cuisine this allows for local and seasonal produce, we source from the Union Square Greenmarket and local producers. Il Fiorista is open seven days a week for dinner and aperitivo hour, also weekend brunch with indoor and patio seating featuring specials from our extensive wine list and cocktails. Also our private dining is available for large parties and events.

What brought me here was to try the tasting menu, which I thought would be specially curated. It was more like a prix fix, which was disappointing so we ended up just ordering off the menu. Portions were small, fried artichokes were bland, and I guess our preference was for the pasta to be a little less al dente. The lobster and branzino had good flavor and the drinks were lovely tasting. There were four of us. We ordered 4 apps, 3 entrees, and 2 desserts. I left feeling like I just had a snack. Our waitress was very friendly and the overall staff were wonderful.

Il Fiorista is an absolute gem. It’s a winner in every category - the design evokes the calm beauty of the flowers that give its name, the service is impeccable and warm, and there are many standout dishes. Best of all, they nail it on noise level. A delicate hum in the room confirms it’s a happening spot, yet unlike so many great restaurants these days, you can hear your dining partners without raising your voices.

The service was subpar; the waiter barely acknowledged us and seemed disinterested by throwing the dessert menu at us and walking away without a word. The food, despite its pricing, was bland, and portion sizes were small. Overall, a disappointing experience—I won't be returning.

This restaurant is absolutely lovely. In the very front there are few shelves where they sell some wonderful cremes and candles. The chairs and banquets are very comfortable if use the through pillows for some lumber support. Service is e Impecable, everyone is extremely helpful and friendly. My 2 four star ratings was for one reason only, while the food was simply delicious the main courses were all quite small and even though the 5.00 for bread was questionable, they were hearty chunks of Italian bread and extremely fresh, so that was a plus. I will definitely return.

Highly recommended. Excellent Italian food and friendly service. Burrata and bread were perfect as well as fried artichoke appetizer. We all had agnolotti with sage and butter which was light and the right size portion. Small but adequate. Would definitely go back. Focus is on the food, not the ambiance.

I am super happy we were able to dine at Il Fiorista, I was visiting with friends and chose here thanks to the positive reviews. We enjoyed everything from the arancini balls, we ordered them twice! The roasted beet salad was divine. The waiter recommended a bottle of wine that paired well with dinner. The pasta is cooked al dente. The service was impeccable. I hope to return next time I’m in town. A hidden gem. Thank you for the amazing service.

This is such a great restaurant. It's immediately clear that this is very different from the other eateries that surround it. It is bright, sunny, and quite serene. The food was really excellent, but above all the service was most memorable. Our server, Armando, was very knowledgeable, send all of the courses were west on and off our table almost in visibly. From where I was seated, I could see that the staff were working as a team to make everyone happy and satisfied. Of course, the food has to be great, and it was. We were a group of five people, and everyone was raving about the restaurant during and after the meal. Highly recommend.

I was very much looking forward to dinner ar Il Fiorista. I found the service to be very good but found The Chef's Table meal uninspired. The first course was a very basic charcuterie board, a tomato salad, and 2 pieces of artisan bread. The second course was a very plain amatriciana that seemed to have small pieces of pork and not guanciale which brings the traditional flavor to the dish. Third course was a just a piece of salmon on a bed of lentils with some type of citrus sauce. Finally, the dessert couse was an individual lava cake and a run-of-the-mill tiramisu. Disappointed.

We were around 9-10 people celebrating a birthday . They did outstanding menu in the chef table. We had no idea what to expect what was going to be served and we were more than surprised and happy at the taste and freshness of each and every dish served as part of the 4-course. Our dietary restriction of being a vegetarian didn’t come in the way for the chef to customised new dishes and present it on table. Will visit again

The Arancini appetizer is a can’t miss. The lemon aïoli was so light and beautiful. We had the Branzinio, and the lobster pappardelle, both I would highly recommend. Portion sizes were appropriate and Service was excellent. Also delicious cocktails

Our meal at Fiorista (to celebrate my birthday) was everything I look for in a restaurant experience. Gorgeous atmosphere, spectacular food/cocktails, lovely service (just the right amount of checking in, plus perfect recommendations)..and best of all, a volume that allowed us to hear one another talk without having to raise our voices. Went with another couple - we usually rotate, with the birthday person choosing where to do the next one -- and so far two of the 4 have decided they are stealing my idea and returning to Fiorista.

Absolutely everything about the chef’s tasting menu and wine pairing was exceptional. The quality of each dish was superb, the restaurant itself is lovely, and the staff were so professional, knowledgeable, and truly care about their customers. I highly recommend this restaurant for a beautiful dining experience.

Very welcoming staff and environment. I recently had a very long brunch here with a friend who I haven't seen in months and the staff were so accommodating. The service is great and the atmosphere is warm and casual. I highly recommend it.

I went with a group of 3 to do their seasonal tasting menu and wine pairing. Incredible experience! Each course was flavorful and beautifully presented and the timing between courses was at a good cadence. The paired wines were fantastic and diverse recommendation. Our server was very attentive and accommodating to the dietary restrictions.

The food was mostly delicious but the portions for the entrees were small, and the artichoke hearts were almost all inedible leaf. Service was fantastic however and the ambiance was nice. Definitely a little pricey for not a large return.

It seems like they've lost their way and their raison d'etre. Our first experience was in 2021 and was incredible. Basically everything about that has disappeared. The quiet ambience bordered on sleepy, and basically everything about the food was "good, but missing something." The cocktail list is the same as years ago, but without nearly as much floral flavor as they advertise. Similarly nearly absent are the floral accents to the menu save the occasional dash of lavender on every third or fourth dish. The fried artichokes were warm at best, and while the pasta dishes were objectively delicious, the portions were remarkably small (literally 12 individual rigatoni in the bolognese bianco!?), and again devoid of anything floral.

First time at Il Fiorista, and it was a wonderful night. We ordered the Four Course Chef's Menu and wow! It was probably the best fish I ever had. Every item that came out was better than the last. I would highly recommend this place.

The website menu was different from the actual menu. One of our party had some food restrictions and relied on the online menu (the soup was made with butter). The actual menu listed arancini but did not list the ingredient of cheese. One of us wanted black tea but the restaurant had run out. The arugula salad had many leaves which were yellow, that is, they were spoiled. Clearly the leaves came out of a plastic bag and no one had inspected and removed the leaves. We had to do that.
