It all started with a promise and from there it was built on a vision. Gaetano Gravino was a hairstylist who had found part time work at a doughboy shack in Oakland Beach. This part time work turned into an opportunity that spoke to his entrepreneurial spirit - the same spirit that lives on in his wife and children: Sally, MaryAnn, David, and Guy. When the chance came to lease the establishment, Gaetano and his wife Sally took it. And in 1989, Iggy's Doughboy and Chowder House was born - coined after a nickname given to him by his son, David. The featured dish at the time was the red chowder - the recipe a family secret created by Sally herself.

Food not bad. Pasta dishes we didn’t like. The pasta was very thick and not delicate. The lobster was fresh in the roll. Best dish was the lobster empanadas.

Overall excellent experience. I ordered the scallops Newburg and was presented with the wrong dish. I sent it back and the waiter and floor manager came back, very apologetic. They put a rush on my order as the rest of my party was already eating. They did a good job, got me the right dish which was delicious. They took good care of us! The mistake in the kitchen is likely just early season new personnel mistakes. They recovered well from a mistake and I would recommend Iggy’s to anyone who wants excellent seafood! Creative drinks and delicious food combined with great customer service is guaranteed.

Waitress we had her name was Laura was excellent. Very prompt, courteous, friendly, and always asked if we were all set. Very very good service no complaints and will return back for more meals.

We had a great meal at Iggy’s. We both had Shrimp Scampi and it was delicious. Nicole was an excellent waitress. Very attentive .

Amazing place to take my wife for her birthday. Laura was an amazing server. She loves her work and the restaurant and guests she serves; we could tell. It’s always amazing when people love what they do.

Outstanding, impeccably fresh seafood, overlooking the water, with friendly service and very fair prices. What more do you want? It's also kinda nice that the clam and dough boy shack, ice cream stand, and sit-down restaurant are all clustered together, so you can mix-and-match as desired.

Sat near the door to kitchen area - or service area - which was frequently used . Asked a waiter if he could change our seats . He never came bank to us to tell us if he could switch us or not. We moved our table away from the body door . Food was good and waitress was attentive.
