Il suffit de mettre un pied dans le confortable établissement pour réaliser à quel point le restaurant Hy's respecte la tradition. Les murs polis en acajou, le bar à cocktails, les meubles en bois massif et les œuvres d'art ont été maintenus avec amour depuis que le restaurant s'est installé en 1962. Le menu reste inchangé, à quelques exceptions près, et propose le meilleur du bœuf de qualité canadien et des fruits de mer, sans oublier le sublime toast au fromage du Hy's.

Waiter was amazing as always, I missed his name but he has been there for a long time. Professional, well spoken, knowledgeable, knows how to play up a table (a good thing) Been going to Hy’s since I was ten and this last visit was for my 50th! Huge family connection to Hy’s - Parents first date, my brothers and I all introduced our partners and their parents to our parents there over the past 60 years. Many happy milestones, and more to come. Thank you for everything

From being greeted and accommodated bring 45mins early to the end of our dinner the enter meal and service was outstanding!!! Highly recommended. One of the best meals we had. It was the complete experience. Enjoyed our selves. Thank you all at Hy for the wonderful evening!!!

A visit to Hy's never disappoints. Can't beat that charcoal grilled flavor and service was excellent. Knowledgeable and friendly but not too much. Shout out to Dan.

For my money, still the best restaurant in the city, even after 25+ years of dining there. The food is always beyond amazing, and the service is always a level above most places. We had Alexei as our server for the second time in a row, and he could not have been any better. He knows his stuff, he knows the menu, and he seemingly just knows what you want. Can't wait to go back again.

The steak was amazing, the Cheese bread was ok, the Greek Salad was really peppery and has hot sauce in the mix. If you are sensitive to paper this is not for you. The atmosphere is chill the age range is 40-70.

We celebrated our wedding dinner at Hy’s and they went above and beyond to accommodate us. Christopher was our server and he was very professional, kind and attentive. The food was excellent and we were so happy that we got to spend such a important milestone at Hy’s, it’s one of our favorite restaurants.

Absolutely one of the best restaurant experiences we have ever had and we travel a lot. The food, service and ambiance were all amazing. Will 100% visit again.

The service was awesome first and foremost. The ambiance is wonderful like the old world charm. Nice and quiet so you can hear the person you’re with. The cheese bread was delightful. The tomato and onion salad and crab cakes were both very good. The steak was just ok. Cooked well but a bit chewy. The mashed potatoes and green beans were flavourless. The green beans most disappointing as they tasted like they were frozen and waterlogged. The broccoli was delish. As was the sorbet.

Everything was good except for one thing. The beef wellington had a very tender piece of meat inside, but the outside pastry was soggy and not cooked enough. The construction of the wellington was not what I consider well made and might need some attention

I got a beef wellingtonbut the taste of pie was so overpowering and it was burnt. The steak itself was not seasoned and the potato and vegetables were bland and undercooked

As usual, our dinner at Hy's was second to none. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, but not hovering. The food was absolutely top notch, and the ambiance the classic dark setting that I love. First class all around!

First time visit to Hys and it did not disappoint! When I travel, I look for the best Steak house that is different from any other and this Open grilled wood grilling place was perfect and we’re able to view the chef! The server by far was knowledgeable and gave is a history lesson on Hys and the nostalgic brick building and collectible Art. A go back for me one day! Thbaks

Food was amazing and sefrvice was very good. The seat we were in was not best located even though the restaraunt was farely empty at the time. Overall though it was great.

I have dined at Hy's Encore several times spanning 35 years. I have never been disappointed and the most resent time was no exception. My waiter was Sebastian and he was excellent.

Update: the manager, Emily, and I spoke on the phone at length to discuss all of the shortcomings. She was very apologetic and wanted me to give them another chance to make it right. I am. going to take her up on this offer because I do believe that mistakes happen, and the fact that they want to rectify the situation and make it right, is great customer service to me! I am very hopeful for the next visit! Thanks Emily! Initial experience: I called a week before my reservation to let them know that I have a disability and that I would need one of the larger booths because I have crutches and would also need to lay on my side sometimes. They said on the phone that that wouldn’t be a problem. When I got there I had to wait a bit for my table to be ready and I confirmed with them to make sure that it was a big booth and not the small ones they have. When we were seated, I found out it actually was a smaller booth and I couldn’t properly go on my side like I needed to. Also because it was so small, there were 2 different servers that knocked my crutches down 3 times and one of the times it almost hit another guest (I was very glad it didn’t hit her). Our server seemed very rushed and anxious and she spoke so fast that I couldn’t understand what she was saying most of the time. The steak Diane that she cooked, was “alright” at best but not $65 worth!! Overall, this restaurant has fine dining prices for a mediocre result. I wouldn’t be back especially because they make promises to the disabled without actually delivering.

Great meal and service. The only shortcoming is that on a beautiful day like yesterday, a patio or outdoor meal would have been a cherry on top.

We really enjoy coming to Hys. The cheese bread is delicious, as well as my Expresso Martini, best one in the city. The steaks were cooked to perfection. We celebrated a birthday and our server Karen was wonderful , and very attentive.
