Il suffit de mettre un pied dans le confortable établissement pour réaliser à quel point le restaurant Hy's respecte la tradition. Les murs polis en acajou, le bar à cocktails, les meubles en bois massif et les œuvres d'art ont été maintenus avec amour depuis que le restaurant s'est installé en 1962. Le menu reste inchangé, à quelques exceptions près, et propose le meilleur du bœuf de qualité canadien et des fruits de mer, sans oublier le sublime toast au fromage du Hy's.

Our first visit and everything was exceptional. Best steak we’ve ever eaten. Oysters were wonderful. We will definitely be back. Blair, our waiter, is an icon and delightful. The entire experience was very memorable. 5 stars!

Sebastian was our server and he was always ready to serve us I never had to ask him to come over and he was very helpful!

Great meal and great service. We loved the downtown location, the ambiance and the food. It was great from beginning to end. A definite place to add to your list if visiting Vancouver. You won't be disappointed.

Hy’s is legendary, no question. The interior ambiance and food is world class. Have been many times for epic food. This time I had the bone in rib steak and it was tough, not tender. I make better steak at home. My dining partners had similar experiences with their steaks. Was very sad to have spent that much $$ for the quality we received. Will likely not return in the future.

We were in the past regular patrons of Hy's and decided we wanted to go back and have the same wonderful meals. Everything, the cheese bread, the caesar salad and the flambe bananas were terrific! My steak was not! I ordered the New York peppercorn steak and it was very grisly...I was very disappointed since I had been looking forward to a Hy's steak for a long time

Outstanding service, consistency, and quality of the food! Steaks we're beautifully cooked with their smoky chagrined flavour. CHEESE BREAD IS A MUST

We had a wonderful meal and a lovely time at Hy’s Steakhouse. Our server, Sophia, took care of us like family and offered excellent service and suggestions. She saw us out at the end of the meal. We would highly recommend Hy’s and will be back.

My family and I have been going to Hy’s Hornby since 1981. Salmon was raw, steak was flavourless and overcooked and mushrooms were burnt. It was a very special occasion and I made the choice not to send everything back as I did not want that to colour the evening. $500 bill for four of us, the Caesar salad, cheese bread and bananas Foster were excellent.

Waiter was amazing as always, I missed his name but he has been there for a long time. Professional, well spoken, knowledgeable, knows how to play up a table (a good thing) Been going to Hy’s since I was ten and this last visit was for my 50th! Huge family connection to Hy’s - Parents first date, my brothers and I all introduced our partners and their parents to our parents there over the past 60 years. Many happy milestones, and more to come. Thank you for everything
