We ordered the 5 courses menus. Everything was too salty. The bill was $848.00. It was a fun experience but the food was too salty

I booked a reservation for my birthday dinner on a Friday night. When we got there they told us it’d take a minute for them to have our table ready. Then we were told our table actually wouldn’t be ready and that we would have to wait 20-25 minutes. I said that was okay because it’s a late Friday night and we didn’t have reservations elsewhere. They told me we were more than welcomed to sit at the bar and wait, which is awesome. Then they apologized and said that was not an option even though they just offered and told us that we’d have to wait/drink elsewhere. Since we were in gaslamp, my partner and I decided to go walking around and get a drink elsewhere. It took a total of 40 minutes of waiting until our table was called. We had an 8:15pm reservation. I was really upset, but did not want to cause a commotion. It was my birthday and I had a pretty good day earlier and my partner and I were just hungry at that point. We were seated upstairs next to the restroom- kind of a bummer- the whole dinner we had people from downstairs and upstairs walking very close past us/standing near out table. Our actual servers that took care of us for the night were amazing and no complaints there, but the hostess and reservation set up was just terrible. The food decent, they had some very good sides, but my steak was overcooked. Overall, the experience was a disappointment, not the best way to end your night.

Fantastic first time experience! Our server Ryan was knowledge of the menu and made great recommendations! The food was presented beautifully! The taste of everything was just delicious! Will definitely be taking a trip back requesting Ryan 👏🏻 thank you!

I celebrated my birthday at Huntress, and it was a wonderful experience. The food was exquisite, the service was impeccable, and the ambiance was perfect for a special occasion. What truly made it memorable was the staff's thoughtful gesture of surprising me with a birthday card and a delicious pastry. It was a celebration to remember, and I highly recommend Huntress for anyone marking a special milestone.

Nice overall experience. Great staff, they KNOW the menu (and don't just recommend the most expensive thing). Food was delicious, NY Steak with whipped potato and mushrooms - and they did a great job of protecting me from gluten (I'm celiac).

Food was delicious and service was amazing. We had an issue with one of our steaks, our server Ryan quickly fixed it and was attentive the entire meal! Entire Staff was 5 star!

Great atmosphere and absolutely great meat and vegetable. Really enjoyed our steaks and Filet Mignon, however, we ordered a set of all sauces for our meat and didn't feel almost any fit with our meats (horseradish sauce was too wimpy, Huntress was too strong etc). We loved the energy and vibe, but as we sat next to the DJ, it was pretty loud and hard to hear each other. Next time, we will definitely ask for a table upstairs or far away from the DJ.

We have been twice in two weeks. We went for date night / anniversary dinner and then our son went there for senior prom. Great experience both teams, great service and good food. Stand outs were lobster curry soup, beef cheek, steak, oysters with bone marrow and the halibut. Will go back and try more items

We had a fabulous experience for dinner at Huntress. Our service was helpful, attentive and helped us get to our destination on time. She surprised our guests with a dessert for a special occasion. Our food was delicious, well prepared with tasty and adventurous menu items. The ambiance is fun, great evening.

Huntress was exceptional from the welcome, to the impeccable service from Bellisario and team, to the incredible food, it was an experience I look forward to duplicating on my next trip to San Diego! The bartender created a custom drink for me that was an herbaceous play on a French 75 (which is my favorite cocktail) and I’m still thinking about it the next day. Amazing amazing dinner! Definitely on my list of top 3 best ever.

I arrived at 6pm on a Thursday, there was no one there and I was seated immediately when they opened. Benacadio was my waiter and he took good care of me. I ordered the lobster curry soup, halibut, potato purée, a Cabernet Sauvignon and ended it with the magic mushroom. The food was amazing! I definitely recommend the lobster curry soup and magic mushroom. I would definitely come back to try the truffle chicken.

My family of 5 had a wonderful dinner. From the minute we walked through the door, the service was incredible. The food was top notch. From presentation, to the flavor, excellent. Typically when dining out with our 10 yr old we avoid more intricate menus. Huntress had the most well designed children’s bento dinner.

We took the teenagers out for a nice dinner in spring break. They said it was the best steak they had ever had. Also, have to do the specialty desert.

Our server/bartender was super friendly and attentive, five star service. I ordered the salmon which was very good. My husband ordered a steak and the steak was ok. The steak was warm when it came out and was missing flavor.

We used to love going to Huntress. unfortunately the new menu is not as amazing as it once was. They removed all the original menu items we loved. We didn’t go there for steak cause honestly you can get better cuts of meat at other places around SD. We truly went there for the items they removed off the menu. So sad, it was one of our favorites.

Our Service was amazing enough for a reason to go back. The lobster soup is an absolute must. We had the rolls to company the soup which paired well. The rolls were good but wouldn't order them if I was not having the soup. We also had a petite seafood platter which was delicious and I would definitely get again and again you cant go wrong if you love seafood. Lastly we split the bone in NY Steak which they cooked to perfection. It came out cut for us to share which was nice. Although it was perfectly cooked I felt the meat itself lacked a bit of flavor. Seems like it should have been juicy and was just okay. I could have been good with just the soup and seafood. We finished it off with the 7 sins chocolate cake which was just okay. Overall I would go back and try other items on the menu since the service was so good it made up for what the steak was lacking.

Overpriced for what it was. We did the 5 course chef’s tasting experience and had a total of 3 glasses of wine and bill was closer to $500 for two people. Not worth it. Mostly instagram hyped up based on the presentation. Service was nice and staff was friendly (not exceptional service as one would expect at this price point) the pace of the food coming out was extremely slow (25-30 min wait between dishes) and left us rushing to our live music event. Will probably return to try the regular menu. Was seated outside so ambiance was lacking and the heaters didn’t quite reach the seating area.

What a fantastic meal and amazing experience! The staff, wine list, and especially the food-Outstanding! Braised Waygu beef cheek was out of this world delicious, and the sommelier paired the perfect wine for it! The vibe was on point and our only regret was not being able to enjoy one of their beautiful deserts, mainly because we were full from an amazing dinner! And they also have an amazing selection of whiskeys, we did the Irish Stoplight flight.

Great atmosphere and good service but the food selection and prices arn’t really worth it. I love a good steak but i frankly believe a steak should be delicious without any sauces. The New York strip I had needed the peppercorn sauce. For the money we spent, Born and Raised has a much better value.

Positively perfect experience. We started at the bar, where the service was great and the cocktails sublime. Our dinner server was knowledgeable and attentive. The food was over the top with flavor and presentation. The short ribs are a must order. The squash is out of this world. The Parkerhouse rolls, the cauliflower, the quail terrine…order it all and don’t pass on dessert.
