The staff are very welcoming and polite. Although a little more training from management wouldn't hurt regarding how to serve champagne. The chef's mercy was quite good. The three course meal was better than expected. The first course was very good. The second course was good but I felt that it had too many cherry tomatoes. The dessert was phenomenal!. It was our first time there and we will go back to try other offerings.

This place is amazing. Food was incredible. We got the chef’s mercy and the 3 courses that followed were delicious. mushroom soup, salmon and halibut, and a strawberry tart. The restaurant is romantic and intimate and the owner was very welcoming. We had a wonderful time.

We loved it! Lovely space, delicious food... delightful waiter. A surprise to find such a classy, refined restaurant in Escondido. We were there pre-ballet and it was absolutely delightful.

Chose this restaurant specifically for the 3-course meal that was prepared by the chef without knowing what the courses consisted of. Very cleverly named the Chef's Mercy menu item. We were extremely satisfied with the plates that the chef cooked up for us and the waiter pairing the courses with an appropriate wine selection and cocktail choice. Can't wait to experience the Sunday Supper Club that we signed up for also.

We'd never been to Hunsaker's but have always wanted to try it since we live close by, so we made reservations for Mother's day. We were seated promptly and the service staff were welcoming and helpful. The buffet was well-organized, nicely laid out, and the food was uniformly high quality. We were presented with a tray of specialty pastries and biscuits as soon as we sat, which was a nice surprise. The chef also prepared additional items for the buffet that were not listed on the menu, and my wife very much enjoyed the tarragon chicken. Hunsaker's is a little gem in downtown Esco and absolutely worth a try!

The place is okay and the ambiance is nice and calm. Most of the food was good but for the price is kind of a bit overated. Servers are very nice but not very attentive as you have to call them everytime to remove your dirty plate. Overall it was okay for me.

Our first time dining here. It was a wonderful experience. Fresh food made from scratch, utilizing local farmers' product. Thank you Jeannette for your hospitality. Love your neighbor, Love Escondido. Support local businesses.

Went with friends for the first time last night. Ambience, food, and drinks were wonderful. I highly recommend if it’s your first time look at the menu on their site as they do make changes to it often depending on what in season.

The food and service was excellent. The restaurant seems like a misfit in this neighborhood. It should be either in Carlsbad or Encinitas given the food quality and price. I think it will attract a more contemporary crowd if it was located in a more vibrant neighborhood.
