Went for Mothers Day brunch. To charge $95 per person and not include mimosas is criminal. Also there were no Eggs Benedict, Waffles, French Toast, Ice Cream, Ceviche, a Chicken entree, and the only option for any kind of egg dish was to stand in line to have it made instead of having a chaffing dish with scrambled eggs while other food on your plate would get cold. Maybe I would have paid $50 for the brunch but $95 is ridiculous for the amount of dishes not on the menu. Also I remember they had live music in the lounge/bar area, this time it was closed.Sadly that was the last time I will go to Humphreys

the food quality for the price was severely lacking, disappointed in that and the table organization. For 246 bucks, this was the worst buffet experience I've had in a long time. Service was mid -- and bland food all around. Further, my mother checked in and they said they would call her when our space was ready, however, when I doubled this they said that she had already been seated.

With the price of this Mother's Day brunch being $95 per person, I at least expected the food the be amazing. It was not. Not a large variety of foods to choose from. Omelet was under cooked, prime roast was cold, bagels were not toasted and hard, etc. I also thought for that price that mimosas would be included but they were not. We were a party of 6 and they included an 18% gratuity and a 5% surcharge then ended up taxing us on both those items so actually overcharged us on this mediocre brunch. I will say the service was great. That was the only good part.

Beautiful restaurant overlooking the harbor. Clean, quiet, excellent and friendly service. It was a Saturday at 1:30PM and we were only able to order from the brunch menu. We hosted our daughter’s college graduation there. We wanted to order from the lunch menu. Food was good though and outstanding service. We will return!

Thr food was great. I've never had better short ribs, and the potatoes were terrific. The meal was pricey, but good.

We came to Humphrey’s for the first time last night 4/27/24. We had excellent service from Chip, he was on his game last night. Honestly his hospitality kept this review from being a one star. The food was seriously mediocre. I ordered the calamari to start, I would definitely like more calamari with my fried breading (first disappointment). My significant other ordered the 12oz lobster tail. Lobster was over cooked and came out laying on cold scalloped potatoes??? The truffle Mac that was supposed to accompany the entree came out late and was also cold. (Second disappointment) I ordered the 14oz Prime rib. I have never ever had a dry prime rib, it was the exact opposite of how Chip described it. Dry, tasteless and just not cooked properly. Best part of the whole experience was probably the mixed drinks. I would not recommend this place for quality of food. Maybe the music makes you forget how good food is supposed to taste or people order drinks and their standards are lowered. This place is definitely 3 star material.

You are not going to find a nicer place with nice bay front views. The service was above average. The food was adequate nothing amazing besides the bacon, which was cooked to perfection. The bloody Mary was very good and above average with the flavor. The drinks held a high price point.

We have visited Shelter Island frequently over the years and were surprised to realize we’ve never dined at Humphrey’s! Our only regret about our experience the other night is that we didn’t do it sooner. Delicious food, beautiful ambiance, stellar service. We will definitely be back.

$100 per person for easter brunch. No oysters, no crab, no shrimp. Just a carving and omelette station and various chafing dishes and salads with all the normal brunch foods. Very disappointing for easter, especially at that price

For the $95 a plate, the quality and taste of the food was not very interesting. For example, the Ham and Lamb was dry and lacked flavor. They looked great, but left the palate missing flavor.

Service was excellent as usual. Food selection a little light for the $95 price each plus drinks and tip and the omelet guy was ridiculously slow. But the most disappointing was a $10 charge that no one could really explain but basically it was me paying for the pleasure of being a customer. Dine here most holidays and the location and service again is always excellent but selection has been declining as stated previously.

We are a local family and love Humphrey's for family celebrations. We enjoyed the Easter brunch recently and want to call out the fantastic service from the manager and hostess at check-in to our waiter and the support staff taking care of our table and keeping our water glasses full throughout our meal. Thank you! The only slight negative is the price - it's steep, and we missed the shrimp/crab on ice from buffets of the past. But the carving table was excellent, and the desserts were fantastic. The bread pudding is TO DIE FOR. Thanks to the entire team for making this a lovely family event.

On a Friday night, and the place was not busy, which I consider a good thing. The staff was fairly patient since we were talkative and didn’t order right away. A bit passive aggressive though as the staff hit one of us in the head with a plate accidentally/not accidentally! And the food was very very good. We had ribs, which were excellent, scallops, which were very good, halibut, which was excellent, and Ciopinni which was reportedly very good as well.

Went back after several years. Scenic venue, ok service, expensive, but great food. Best crab cakes hands down. Seems they don’t pay attention to special requests..not sure I’d go back.

The restaurant is quiet, the lighting great, the colors subdued. The temperature was very pleasant. We were lucky enough to get seated by a window. The view was great and the seating was very comfortable. Our waitress, Jolene, was pleasant and efficient and her staff was on the ball. Our food was very good. Overall, it was a wonderful evening.

got the flatbread, short ribs & cheesecake. 10/10 would recommend. short ribs is what's bringing me back along with the service. attentitive. first time but im coming back again & again.

In the Lounge, the manzanita blues band was terrific, drinks, and service one too. In the restaurant the mussels and crab cake as starters were delicious as was the short ribs as a main course, and chocolate cake for dessert. Service was attentive.

Our table overlooked the amazing sunset. Both our entrees (salmon and halibut) were delicious and perfectly prepared. The service was very good.

Erika was great. The kitchen was running behind and it didn’t let it faze her level of service. We waited on a truffle Mac & cheese for 20 minutes while our food got cold. My boyfriend asked for a refire of his steak and she brought a new one out with no hesitation. Comped a round of drinks for the trouble. Everyone else’s candle was lit on the table except ours. Not a big deal, just something I noticed. Truffle Mac and cheese was disappointing. It looked like someone just opened a microwavable pack and put it in a bowl. Very underwhelming.

Dinner was elegant and delicious! If you’re going to Humphreys for the music , you need to sit in the bar, rather than the dining room. The dining room is perfect for a quiet, romantic evening.

We sat next to the window which was pretty incredible and made for a picture perfect sunset. The food was pretty good but our server was scatter brained. We were one of the first to be seated since we got there when it opened at 5. We had the Valentine's special (prime rib and lobster) which should have come out fairly quick but we didn't get our meal till well after an hour after we ordered. Our server assured us that it was coming but we think she actually forgot to place the order. We watched meal after meal come out and people eat and leave that came in 45+ minutes after we sat down. I would go back but just to check out a show. There are a lot of places to eat around San Diego that have the same if not better food for cheaper prices.

Nice place overall as far as location, views and maybe music. Food on the hand was very average at best and for an expensive restaurant dinner date it just doesn’t cut it. Service was good but please accept this as constructive criticism and really hope that if I were to ever return here the food it a lot better. As of a couple of days ago I would recommend this place for drinks and music but for now not for the food.

The restaurant had no music playing, service was ok, but overall the food wasn't worth the price. The flavors in both dishes were way too rich and the scallops were chewy. Was pretty bummed since I had high hopes. Would stay at the hotel again and the bar is great but the restaurant is overrated.
