I had visited Hudson in Houston once before, but this time I wanted to curb my martini craving and heard they had the best one in town. Our server, Brian, was friendly, professional, nice, and informative, explaining the different types of oysters. Normally, we don’t order oysters, but he convinced us to try half a dozen Malpeque oysters, which were incredible. They came with a homemade vinegar brine that had a pickle-like flavor, so good that we ordered a second round. The pacing of our meal was perfect, and the ambiance was warm and inviting. The wood accents and yellow lighting made it cozy yet sophisticated without being pretentious. The staff interacted well with each other, and their service steps were evident in every aspect. The service manager, Eric, was friendly and went above and beyond for his staff, running food and drinks and closing out our check. He also stopped by our table to check on our experience and informed us about their brunch offerings, which we’ll definitely return for. It was a 10/10 experience.

Our table wasn’t ready when we arrived. Our drinks took ages. The food arrived all at the same time. Not a great first experience.

This place took a concept tried and true (the old Houston's, Hill stones,) and did a cool remake on an old fave. A well curated menu with sushi items, (not too many, not too few) in addition to a handful of entrees that seek to please many varied palates. The tried and true salmon done perfectly on a board with maple glaze. Oysters to die for (malpec blue point, or pink moon) are beyond wonderful and lovely strong martinis of every form and fashion ruled. They floated as a river in a constant stream. Hudson's is the type of place frequented by all kinds-- younger, older and in between. A big crowd in the bar, and lots of girlfriend meet ups. It looks so comfortable And friendly. A nice thing since restaurants are getting back to the business of giving a great experience. Staff here is very good too. Eric the GM stopped by our table as we were finishing to ask about our meal and offered one of the 2 desserts (on the house!) what a finish to a great meal and fun time: chocolate silk pie. Just another reason to return -

The paid parking is a new deterrent. Very noisy. Food only so so. Service slow.

This was my first time dining at Hudson House. Nice atmosphere and the service from Eric and Anson was outstanding. I highly recommend the Avocado Dip. My friends loved the Hudson Salad and the Fish Tacos. Save room for dessert! The Key Lime Pie and Chocolate Silk Pie are irresistible.

The food and our waiter were both very good. He made good recommendations and helped us narrow down our choices which were spot on. We wanted to be in the bar which was full so we had a table in the dining room and had a nice meal and enjoyed the ambiance.

The service was good but a little slow on the drinks so the promised “icy cold” martinis were only slightly cold when delivered. We suspect they sat at the bar a while. Other than that service was fine. Our waiter may have had too many tables so not her fault.
