    Join us Wednesday, June 5, 2024, @ 6:00 PM as we host + toast with Brooke Sabel National Sales Director as we start with hors D'oeuvres into a 4-course dinner. Vanessa Wong, Nick Peay + Andy Peay are driven by the same passion: to make wine that engages all of our senses + captures the unique character of a piece of land. To realize this vision, they needed to seek cooler climates with less sunshine + longer growing seasons to grow Chardonnay, Pinot Noir + Syrah. Perched on a knoll on the second ridge 4 miles from the Pacific Ocean, they found a 53-acre vineyard located above a river in the far northwestern corner of the West Sonoma Coast. No one had grown this far northwest in Sonoma County; This was frontier land. It was breath-taking.

    When the kitchen is backed up or the sever is behind an apology is due. Sadly the apology from the server only came after we paid the check. We will not return here. The missteps 1. Sat for over 20 min before we could get anyone’s attention for a food or drink order. When we did it was a manager who took a drink order. 2. We ordered 1 cocktail that took 15 min to arrive. The manager was able to grab the wines to pour. 3. No one came back in the hour and 15 minutes while we waited for our food. No checking in, no drinks. Terrible experience

    Far and away, the only reason I’m not giving a nasty review is the food. Everything was excellent- highly recommend the spicy crab dip, it was so unique. Otherwise, this place has a lot of kinks to figure out while it’s still semi-new. From the beginning the service was weird at best. I asked what was in one of the cocktails, and was told it was gin, to which I asked if I could switch to vodka. She pointed me to a different cocktail if I wanted vodka, but I intentionally didn’t ask about that one because I didn’t like the ingredients. Finally she said they prefer not to do any substitutions on cocktails, which seems bizarre, but fine. Then we ordered some food, and our hot appetizers (crab dip and stuffies) both came out at least 30 minutes before our 6 oysters. In what world does that make sense? Then we had to literally flag the waitress down as she hadn’t checked on us in almost an hour to order an entree and a half bottle of wine. The food came almost immediately, and the wine didn’t show up until at least 30 minutes later. We didn’t want to be rude at that point but we were SHOCKED she didn’t ask if we even still wanted it. In addition, we were seated next to the kitchen which was extremely loud and chaotic, with food runners and the host yelling at the chefs, which was very distracting throughout our whole dinner, which took almost 2 1/2 hours, despite only ordering a few apps and one entree each. Again, the food was fantastic so I would like to return, but may hold off for a few months until it’s more organized.

    We had a fantastic server, and everything we ate and drank was delicious. However, the restaurant was so clearly very, very understaffed for the dinner rush and we sat for 30-45 minutes at a time without attention (besides water refills). There were times that I became hungry again due to the long delay between an initial appetizer and being served again after. Some of our dishes came out cold, and follow-up requests for small things like more bread never materialized. Lastly, their only large seafood dinner option was already sold out when we ordered - our reservation was at 6:30. Not a great look for a seafood restaurant. Great atmosphere, and we had an excellent, apologetic and self-aware server, but he was just totally hung out to dry by management by not having enough other colleagues working to attend to all of the tables. Hopefully this was a fluke and people don’t often experience this staffing issue. I plan to give it another chance!

    How to rate this experience. The meal started well with a tasty crudo, bluefish pate and a surprising yummy, if boring in appearance, deconstructed Caesar. The entrees were also good (especially the whole bronzino)…..when they FINALLY arrived. The manager claimed that there was a problem printing the ticket, or the ticket got lost, or the dog ate the ticket – I’m not sure which. But almost two hours after sitting down, they came to apologize for their error. I might have bought that excuse, but it took almost an hour for my cocktail to arrive. They claimed that delay was due to being “really busy outside.” The restaurant inside and out was, perhaps, at 2/3rds capacity. In fairness, they did comp the meal without our saying anything. However, we would’ve been happy to pay for the food, had It arrived in a timely manner. I might give it another chance - chalking it up to “new opening jitters” - but not anytime soon. With so many other choices in the Seaport, I would not put this at the top of my list.

    It was lovely to sit outside by the Seaport on a warm night. The servers were very kind. They inadvertently forgot to give us one of our dishes and we did get billed for it. The lobster roll was good but not $65 worth of good!
