Very nice. Thank you. I would like to come back for the afternoon tea. My friend and I really enjoyed our lunch. The beautiful restaurant and the lovely, gracious people who were working there.

I had the chicken katsu omurice. It’s not quite what I expect. I thought it’s a dish with soft egg yolk that flows out & cover the rice when you cut into it. However, the taste is not bad.

Booked in for the special Mother’s Day tea. I got there later than my friend who had already started her afternoon tea set, and I noticed that it was not the same tier as displayed on a banner in front of the cafe entrance! The picture looked way better, with different deserts and sandwiches. So I opted for the regular menu instead, and very much enjoyed the fried chicken and biscuits. But I did go for the intention of having the Mother’s Day tea but after hearing one of my friends sandwich was dry, I thought at $75 maybe I’ll opt out. I tried her scone and it tasted more like a muffin not a scone. I also tried some of her mulberry or some sort of berry macaron, and it tasted odd like almost stale maybe it was not refrigerated. She had told our friendly server about the dry sandwich and he said it’s made the day or night before. Also had to flag servers down for coffee refills, and the bill. And he seemed confused what I meant by separate bills for the three of us. It does seem to operate as a cafe, not a restaurant, I mean cafe is in the name but the price tags are of a restaurant that would offer proper afternoon tea service. I would skip this place for high tea and spend that same amount at the notch8 tea room or even 5sails.

The afternoon tea wasn't worth it. I pointed out to the server the sandwhiches were really dry and tasted weird like it had freezer burn. He mentioned that they prepare the sandwhiches the night before and put them in the refrigerator. Didn't offer to change it out for fresh ones or anything else. I ate the ones that were fresher, but the other savoury items weren't that great either apart from the procuitto apricot that was actually fresh. The cheese cake was mostly gram cracker crust with the tiniest bit of cheese cake, madeleine had no flavor and was massive, and the macaron was stale. I left these partially tasted items on my plate and my friends tried the second macaron and scone I left and also said it was terrible. The scone was less of a scone and more like a muffin in taste and texture. My friends who joined later were initially going to do the afternoon tea too, but decided to do brunch instead. They also said the bread looked dry and they felt mislead because what was offered didn't match the posters and promotional cards on the table that feature the Toronto afternoon tea. It's fine if the two locations offer different menus, but I don't see why they can't promote what's actually being offered in Vancouver in the actual cafe. Being that my friends and I go for afternoon tea regularly in downtown, we know what a $75 price tag entails and this missed the mark. I wouldn't recommend afternoon tea here.

The Chef does an excellent job creating an interesting varied menu. The food is cooked well. The server was very pleasant. Decor and cloth napkins are a big part of the ambience. Thanks.

We absolutely loved our Lunar New Year Afternoon Tea. The service was thoughtful and consistent, and we felt very taken care. The tea itself was stunning and left no room for improvement. Generous portion sizes and all items were well crafted with a lot of care put into each one. We also enjoyed the red envelopes that were included!

We ate here for the Lunar New Years Afternoon Tea, and it was well-worth the price. There were 3 tiers of specialties, all with Asian flavors and presentations. The expertise to make some of these treats, especially the Jade Chocolate Dragon, was amazing.

It's a surprisingly cozy space, despite the simple decor. Great food, kind and knowledgeable staff. It was nice that it wasn't super loud, nor were the tables too close together. The perfect combination of lively and yet still private!

Food was great. Atmosphere was great too. Service was great except that the servers were so overwhelmed with the amount of tables seated. It would be nice if extra staff on the floor to help us with topping our water and checking in with us from time to time.

We had the Jo Malone high tea set and were quite disappointed. The panna cotta had not set properly and the consistency was like yogurt. The other desserts were too sweet. The scones and savoury sandwiches were alright. It took them over 40 minutes to get the high set out to us (just two of us). I probably will not go back to Holts Cafe.

We did the holiday afternoon tea. Service was excellent. Food was OK and overpriced. We had to send the truffle egg salad sandwiches back because they were missing the egg salad. Portions were too small. The menu looked delicious so we were excited to try this while shopping the store. I think the regular lunch menu would have been a better choice.

Tasty high tea! Only thing confusing was the instagram photos from the holts page showed Toronto’s high tea, so I went in expecting that layout for tea. But it was still very delishous. One other thing was an IG reel from an influencer showed a complimentary gingerbread latte and a pot of tea at their table. Which may lead people to think they’re getting both. I asked the server and she said you choose tea or the latte which makes more sense. But they must have forgotten to ask in the beginning. That’s okay, cuz I’d have chosen tea anyways. Other than that, it was all lovely! And I’d check this place out again. It was nice of them to give you a little sample gift to take home. Nice touch!

Had afternoon tea… thinking it’s Christmas time the cafe would put up some Christmas decorations/music to get in the festive mood. Disappointed that it wasn’t. The cafe was just like any other day.. nothing special. However food selection of both savoury & desserts were good.

What a lovely way to celebrate the season with this Xmas tea. My friend and I had a lovely time at the cafe so much so that two hours flew by. Our waiter was truly the best, took his time to explain what we were about to eat as well as explaining all the different tea choices. The food was quite yummy and the tea was divine, we were left wondering if Holts sells their special blend as one could consume that any day of the week.

Been here when they first opened, the food was bad then… decided to give them another chance and try the high tea and the food was still bad. I’ve never been to a high tea place where not even one item tasted good… also we listed a allergy restriction which was not followed

We had a lovely experience at the Jo Malone afternoon tea. The service was great, the waitress gave us good tea recommendation and explained all the items in the tea set. We loved the ambiance of the cafe as well. Definitely an experience to remember!

Went for afternoon tea. The tea was mediocre and was not hot. Also they did not refill the hot water. The food in the afternoon tea set was good. Everything was pretty tasty except for the pannacotta.

Food was not good! I had a short rib tart and it was icy. I asked the server if it’s suppose to be cold and she said yes. But it was close to frozen on the inside. Very disappointed. Other than the little perfume sample I got in the end, I don’t see what this tea set has anything to do with Jo Malone. Also the presentation of the tea set looks nothing like Instagram. Almost felt like a scam.

Our waitress was very nice and accommodating, my high tea came without one of the snacks and she quickly got it for us. The host was very blunt and rude if im being honest, especially since it was my birthday celebration and when we wanted the bill multiple waiters and hosts ignored us.

Teas - Good selection Savory - Most preferred, some items could have used a little more salt. One of the tartlettes were significantly under-filled compared to the other 3. Truffle egg sandwich could use more filling. Scones - OK, maybe more cinnamon Dessert - Churro smelled like oil and tasted like oil, biting into it let out more oil, it was not pleasant. Marshmallow too big for how sweet it was. Strawberry flavorless and sour.. Was a little difficult to wave someone down for more hot water to refill teapot.

They have this Jo Malone tea set but not sure why it is related to Jo Malone except for giving us a small sample. The portion is very small. We went there early so it was quiet but after an hour it is super very noisy like a pub so we left right afterward. The egg we order over medium but came very runny so they remade it. The service is good but the value and atmosphere are terrible. Will still go there for some very light snacks but won’t be there again for a normal meal.

We booked 3 people for high tea and noted dietary restrictions that two of our party were dairy-free. We got to the table for our reservation and were told by the waiter that there is no such thing as dairy-free high tea. Extremely disappointing for all parties.

Holt's Cafe has not disappointed. This is my 4th time having Afternoon Tea and it's always so special and wonderful. The presentation, the ambiance, the service and the teas are always a highlight. Thank you for making the occasion so memorable and delightful. I've brought a new friend who is now a convert and understands why I feel like I have found a treasure in downtown Vancouver. Thank you.
