Overall, the food were poorly made. We ordered 3 dishes, classic benedict, steak hash, & Thai tea french toast. The eggs on the classic benedict were pretty cooked. The egg yolks were hardened. The potatoes in the steak hash were soaky. At last but not least, the bottom of the french toast was burnt. Very disappointed.

Very nice. Thank you. I would like to come back for the afternoon tea. My friend and I really enjoyed our lunch. The beautiful restaurant and the lovely, gracious people who were working there.

I had the chicken katsu omurice. It’s not quite what I expect. I thought it’s a dish with soft egg yolk that flows out & cover the rice when you cut into it. However, the taste is not bad.

Booked in for the special Mother’s Day tea. I got there later than my friend who had already started her afternoon tea set, and I noticed that it was not the same tier as displayed on a banner in front of the cafe entrance! The picture looked way better, with different deserts and sandwiches. So I opted for the regular menu instead, and very much enjoyed the fried chicken and biscuits. But I did go for the intention of having the Mother’s Day tea but after hearing one of my friends sandwich was dry, I thought at $75 maybe I’ll opt out. I tried her scone and it tasted more like a muffin not a scone. I also tried some of her mulberry or some sort of berry macaron, and it tasted odd like almost stale maybe it was not refrigerated. She had told our friendly server about the dry sandwich and he said it’s made the day or night before. Also had to flag servers down for coffee refills, and the bill. And he seemed confused what I meant by separate bills for the three of us. It does seem to operate as a cafe, not a restaurant, I mean cafe is in the name but the price tags are of a restaurant that would offer proper afternoon tea service. I would skip this place for high tea and spend that same amount at the notch8 tea room or even 5sails.

The afternoon tea wasn't worth it. I pointed out to the server the sandwhiches were really dry and tasted weird like it had freezer burn. He mentioned that they prepare the sandwhiches the night before and put them in the refrigerator. Didn't offer to change it out for fresh ones or anything else. I ate the ones that were fresher, but the other savoury items weren't that great either apart from the procuitto apricot that was actually fresh. The cheese cake was mostly gram cracker crust with the tiniest bit of cheese cake, madeleine had no flavor and was massive, and the macaron was stale. I left these partially tasted items on my plate and my friends tried the second macaron and scone I left and also said it was terrible. The scone was less of a scone and more like a muffin in taste and texture. My friends who joined later were initially going to do the afternoon tea too, but decided to do brunch instead. They also said the bread looked dry and they felt mislead because what was offered didn't match the posters and promotional cards on the table that feature the Toronto afternoon tea. It's fine if the two locations offer different menus, but I don't see why they can't promote what's actually being offered in Vancouver in the actual cafe. Being that my friends and I go for afternoon tea regularly in downtown, we know what a $75 price tag entails and this missed the mark. I wouldn't recommend afternoon tea here.

The Chef does an excellent job creating an interesting varied menu. The food is cooked well. The server was very pleasant. Decor and cloth napkins are a big part of the ambience. Thanks.
