A unique artisanal Italian restaurant and wine bar in Downtown Berkeley. Located on a quite side street, our outdoor patio is a quiet refuge for those who want a Gourmet Casual experience. We balance the best imported Italian meats and cheeses with locally sourced produce and herbs. Our Italian and Californian wines pair perfectly with our Sandwiches, Pastas, Pizza and Salads.
We use QR codes for Contact-less ordering and payment from the tables. We will bring food and wine to the table.

I was new to Heroic Italian In light of the fact that you are a sponsor of Berkeley Rep my friend and I had lunch there prior to a matinee show. Such a Great find! Food was delicious, service fantastic. I will be a regular now 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

It was Mother’s Day and they were very short staffed (please get your own silverware and water from over there..). They staff would promise to bring something and then forget (something to stabilize the rocking table and salt). The food runner kept bringing the food to the wrong tables. The Delicata pasta was $22 and contained only 7 small pieces of squash and was very under seasoned. I’ve been to this restaurant before and I hope it was just a very off day.

I am so sorry this happened. My wife broke her ankle and I had to go help her, so we were very short staffed. 1- Nothing annoys me more then rocking tables. I will figure out to get them stabilized before service starts 2- Delicata Squash- There should be 24 pieces of squash (3 rings cut into 8th) - I will make sure the team adds the correct amount going forward. As for it being under seasoned thats a surprise as it should be spicy and garlicy. will check to make sure its being prepared correctly. 3- It was an off day. Its no excuse but we had a record week and were just not ready for such an increase in customers. I will work to make sure that we don't get surprised again. Thank you for understanding and hopefully you can give us another try cheers

The Berkeley location of this restaurant is rather small, just a few tables, and I felt fortunate that we were there at an off-peak time, between lunch and dinner, because with one loud party in the place the noise level would have become almost unbearable. As it was, my friend and I had an enjoyable, mellow repast. The food is good but nothing to write home about: I had pesto rotini and the shrimp, which came with some bread. The service was kind and attentive.

Had a fun and fabulous Galentines' brunch here on a rainy Saturday. The weather was a bummer but the inside space is very cozy and welcoming with efficient and friendly service. Our party of four enjoyed an assortment of sandwiches, appetizers and pasta. The Montesacro Pinseria sandwich bread is amazing and since it's baked w/ Italian wheat, it's easier on the gut (as we learned from the manager). We'll be back for the wine when it's Happy Hour! Thx.
