Our menu is seasonal, and subject to *daily* changes.
Heritage Restaurant uses sustainable meat, fresh seafood, and Farmers Market produce. We are certified blue, green, and maintain a zero-waste kitchen. Heritage is family owned and operated by Chef Philip Pretty and sister Lauren Pretty. Our lively indoor dining room was built in 1922 as a craftsman house. Walk inside to an open kitchen, request bar seating to watch us cook over a live fire Santa Maria grill. Located in the Rose Park neighborhood of Long Beach on the corner of 7th & Saint Louis Ave. Newly awarded Michelin Star and green star in 2023. Just doin our own thing out in Long Beach.

What a wonderful experience for our anniversary! From the opening champagne to a card delivered after our dessert, we were spoiled and taken care of sweetly. And then there’s this delicious, thoughtfully composed plates and the flavors are still lingering in our memory. Thank you so much!

This is my second visit to Heritage. The service the second time around was more attentive than my first visit. Every service member that we encountered was so friendly, helpful, and professional. Our table was ready as soon as we got there and we started with a lovely mussel amuse bouche. It was so delicious! All of the courses were very well executed as well as absolutely lovely when it came to presentation. The wine list was interesting as it consisted of mostly boutique wineries that we were not familiar with. It was nice to try something new. The peanut butter praline dessert was so good and a wonderful way to close our evening. I highly recommend this restaurant!

I had a wonderful time returning to Heritage! A few highlights from my meal: 1. Brown Butter Endive: possibly one of the best vegetable dishes I've had, paired with parmesan and cheese grits that were savory on another level. 2. Local Scallops and Abalone: huge, huge scallops that were incredibly buttery and simply melts in your mouth. 3. Aged Rib Cap: great sear on the rib cap, and the nutty aged flavor really comes through with the sauce and black garlic puree. 4. Wine Pairing ($60): a fantastic medley of California wines Overall, a memorable dinner to look forward to!

Excellent food and flavors. Wine pairing was mostly good (personal taste) not great. Servers were attentive but consistently served with their thumbs inside the rim of the plate.

Heritage is an inviting space with friendly, knowledgable servers, beautifully presented food that is absolutely scrumptious. We had the prefixed menu (the only choice) with the wine pairings and enjoyed every bite.

Took my boyfriend here for his birthday and it was an amazingly experience!! Everything was so good and full of flavor we are so excited to come back when they create a new menu! Alex (hopefully that’s his name) was so fun we loved him.

Our first visit and we were blown away by the experience. The progression of the items worked very well (I want a bowl of the black garlic pommes) and we were pleased with the quality and service. I had some difficulty with the froyo pomegranate being too tart for my tongue, but that is just me. The dish was excellent. We will definitely be returning in the near future.

Every dish was incredibly delicious. The scallop in particular perfectly cooked with layers of flavor was my favorite. Wine was perfectly paired as well. Minor note the server should keep hand off the label while pouring and the runners should serve the lady first . Can't wait to dine here again

A wonderful culinary experience. Excellent service, all the dishes were on point and filled to the brim with flavor and care. Each morsel was passionately crafted for maximum flavor and texture enjoyment, and the wine pairings on the menu were incredibly well thought out. The service from Nick was impeccable, and our overall dining experience was fun, enjoyable, and unpretentious. A delight for the senses in every regard. You can tell the passion for food, flavor, and regionally sourced ingredients infuses every bite. Well worth the wait and the price paid. Would dine again, happily.

Excellent food, beautifully plated. Portion big enough to satisfy appetite but not overwhelm the digestive system. I had a chair at the kitchen counter. The team works very cohesive and it seems they all enjoy what they do. Definitely comes from ownership

The food was amazing, my friend loved the crudo and I loved the steak. The ambiance felt as if you were in a friend's kitchen. Service was amazing as well. I would 100% come back.

2nd time just as good, if not better, than 1st time! We like to visit every 6 weeks or so to let the menu roll (chef prefers highly seasonal and local). Low key, understated, unpretentious, perfection throughout.

An amazing experience at Heritage. The flavor combinations are complex and rewarding. Just the right amount of food. I don’t drink alcohol and they have two nonalcoholic wine options. I chose sparkling rosé and it was delicious. Perfect special occasion restaurant.

Deserving of its Michelin star. Such a luxury to have a spot like this in Long Beach. Parking is hard and the valet is higher than most, but the restaurant experience makes it worth it. We’ll be back!

The first two courses which are basically salad items were exquisitely plated and complex in flavor. The first entree was a plumb scallop cooked perfectly but a bit more flavor could have enhanced it rather than the abalone. Ribeye cap was fine, nothing extraordinary. I would rather have another savory dish than two desserts. Very reasonable price for the wine pairings. Lovely service, not overbearing, and the setting was lovely, in a converted home. Light and airy feeling. We had a bit of sticker shock when our valet charge was $25. They only took cash or Venmo which we don’t have. Luckily we had enough cash on us.

A tiny little specialty restaurant with big achievements. Cute decor and very clean. Prix fixe tasting menu limits your options but with food this delicious, interesting and satisfying, no need for more. The wine pairings were perfect, per my date. Innovative, surprising, exciting, loved all of the dishes. Service was top notch but not stuffy. We had at least 5 servers for the two of us. Everything was well paced and we wanted for nothing. They were professional yet able to joke around with our humor. Pricing is high. About $340 for food for 2, wine for 1 and a coffee. Tip was well deserved. Valet $25! An absolute must for foodies!

The wine pairing was a little off. First pairing, was on the spot. The balanced missed. Food was good to excellent. Service excellent. Restaurant is a little out of the way, far from the freeway and not easy to get to. Yet, clean and well presented. Try it yourself for a special evening. Servers were knowledgeable about the food and wine.

Food was so unique and such a fun experience! Unfortunately they forgot 2 things we ordered, they did comp 1 but for the price that feels like it should not happen. But overall so good and can’t wait to try it again when the menu changes again!

A very enjoyable 6- course tasting menu consisting of wonderfully put together locally sourced dishes and complemented with Californian wines. All courses were excellent with multiple levels of flavors and textures within each. The team were excellent too - attentive and helpful.

The tasting menu was excellent. Unexpected ingredients and flavor combinations that were wonderful. My partner, who does not like seafood in general, really enjoyed the scallop and abalone dish. The egg dish was unusual, but we both loved it. Attentive, but not intrusive service. The final chocolate tart was good, but not up to the level of all the other dishes. Most likely just suffers in comparison.

We absolutely loved our dining experience at Heritage. The food was phenomenal and we really enjoyed how the prefix menu was structured. The wine pairings were thoughtful and exceptional, not to mention some very generous pours! And the entire staff from the hostess who sat us to our server to the food/wine runners were wonderful, especially our main server Nick! We will be back and sending more patrons to Heritage in the meantime.

Heritage is a very nice experience. Great little remodeled cottage with very casual front room looking in to the bustling large kitchen. Another separate dining room that is still casual and fun. The food is excellent and the wine has interesting new offerings with great pairings with the food. Attentive, very good service. An enjoyable evening and a reasonable 120.00 for a 6 course tasting menu.

Overrated and overpriced: How can you enjoy excellent food in an ambiance that consists of cold white light, a kitchen that hogs the small space that is the restaurant, bare white walls, high noise levels, and constant commotion of patrons coming and leaving? The food is tasty but hardly stellar in the way that other high-end Michelin star restaurants are. If you’re looking for a romantic evening, this place is not for you. One couple got up and left very soon after being seated. I don’t mind spending top dollar for an exquisite dining experience, but I expect perfection.
