Hearsay’s modern take on American cuisine and cocktails combines with the distinct atmosphere and music of the 1930s to create a space that is warm, inviting, and unlike any other in Southern Oregon. Situated just below the beloved Oregon Cabaret Theatre and a three-minute walk from the world-renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival.

Garden seating is based upon availability at the time of your reservation. If requested, and not available we will place you in the dining room or lounge. Please note: pets not allowed in the garden. Thank you!

We had such a delicious and delightful experience here before a play that we and our friends decided to come back the next night. We shared all of the appetizers and all were beautiful, flavor-full and delightful in particular the scallops with white chocolate-pesto sauces and the pork belly with apples and croutes were spectacular. The shortribs entree was also memorable. Service was friendly, prompt and professional, the speakeasy ambiance was fun. We will be back again next time we are in the area!

While Hearsay is downtown, it feels a little off the beaten path. Indoors has plenty of room and if you're in the mood to sit outdoors, they have a secret garden in the back. The service is great and most importantly - the food is excellent. We ordered the scallops last time and they were cooked to perfection. In fact, everything was cooked to perfect. Did you know asparagus can be cooked to perfection? Hearsay does, and it's not hearsay.

I t took over an hour to get served. I had asked for a table in the dining room and was put in the bar area.

We enjoyed everything about this restaurant. There is a lovely outdoor garden dining area, but we chose to sit inside. The ambiance was especially nice. Hoping for live music, but that's only on weekends - yet a nice selection of jazz standards played and we enjoyed that. The service and food were excellent. The salmon was cooked to perfection. We will definitely return next time we're in Ashland. Ed & Carol from Eugene OR

We’ve eaten here many times. Julie, the owner, is so nice and helpful. The food is always delicious. We always order the scallops and have tried many of the other entrees and found them all delicious. We also like their wine selections. The service is a little slow but we keep coming back!
