Hearsay’s modern take on American cuisine and cocktails combines with the distinct atmosphere and music of the 1930s to create a space that is warm, inviting, and unlike any other in Southern Oregon. Situated just below the beloved Oregon Cabaret Theatre and a three-minute walk from the world-renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival.

Garden seating is based upon availability at the time of your reservation. If requested, and not available we will place you in the dining room or lounge. Please note: pets not allowed in the garden. Thank you!

We enjoyed everything about this restaurant. There is a lovely outdoor garden dining area, but we chose to sit inside. The ambiance was especially nice. Hoping for live music, but that's only on weekends - yet a nice selection of jazz standards played and we enjoyed that. The service and food were excellent. The salmon was cooked to perfection. We will definitely return next time we're in Ashland. Ed & Carol from Eugene OR

We’ve eaten here many times. Julie, the owner, is so nice and helpful. The food is always delicious. We always order the scallops and have tried many of the other entrees and found them all delicious. We also like their wine selections. The service is a little slow but we keep coming back!

This was my second time at Hearsay. We (four people) very much enjoyed the place. Food and service were excellent. The single detraction was noise—it was difficult at times to hear each other. We agreed to return in the summer to enjoy outside seating.

Everything surpassed our expectations (which were high to begin with after a wonderful dinner last year). Tasty cocktails, delectable asparagus soup, amazing goat cheese and crostini appetizer (plenty for two or more people), and excellent main courses (tender short ribs with polenta and cipollini onions and perfectly cooked salmon atop the best risotto I've ever had with a fennel-cream sauce). We both had, and loved, the chocolate roulade cake with an espresso whipped cream filling. It was surprisingly light and just the right level of sweetness. The portions were ample. We'll enjoy the leftovers tonight at our hotel. We can't say enough good things about our server, Lola, who went above and beyond. We appreciated her helpful suggestions, her attentive (but never intrusive) manner, and her kindness. Also enjoyed conversing with the friendly bartender, Freddie, and the owner, Julie. Even the music and decor- reminiscent of a 1930s speakeasy - added tremendously to the experience. A real gem. We'll be back!

Great service. Great food. Hostess and waitress made my wife and I feel very welcomed and special on the night of our anniversary.

Wonderful dinner on patio garden area. The beat part was gluten free desserts…Lemon mousse and chocolate roll cake were so good!

Very happy with dinner at the elegant, yet comfortable, Hearsay. Good sized portions. My only negative comment would be that if the restaurant is charging for bread, it should be better and bigger than what was served.

The perfect evening spent at Hearsay. Loved the ambiance and piano playing softly (he is amazing), and have not yet started to describe the food and great service. Flavors were amazing on all 4 of our selections, portion sizes just perfect, and there is attention to detail clearly evident. Staff are checking in to see if everything is just right, and yet not overwhelming. Thank you for creating such a perfect evening for us. We look forward to our next visit!
