Hearsay’s modern take on American cuisine and cocktails combines with the distinct atmosphere and music of the 1930s to create a space that is warm, inviting, and unlike any other in Southern Oregon. Situated just below the beloved Oregon Cabaret Theatre and a three-minute walk from the world-renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival.

Garden seating is based upon availability at the time of your reservation. If requested, and not available we will place you in the dining room or lounge. Please note: pets not allowed in the garden. Thank you!

Everything surpassed our expectations (which were high to begin with after a wonderful dinner last year). Tasty cocktails, delectable asparagus soup, amazing goat cheese and crostini appetizer (plenty for two or more people), and excellent main courses (tender short ribs with polenta and cipollini onions and perfectly cooked salmon atop the best risotto I've ever had with a fennel-cream sauce). We both had, and loved, the chocolate roulade cake with an espresso whipped cream filling. It was surprisingly light and just the right level of sweetness. The portions were ample. We'll enjoy the leftovers tonight at our hotel. We can't say enough good things about our server, Lola, who went above and beyond. We appreciated her helpful suggestions, her attentive (but never intrusive) manner, and her kindness. Also enjoyed conversing with the friendly bartender, Freddie, and the owner, Julie. Even the music and decor- reminiscent of a 1930s speakeasy - added tremendously to the experience. A real gem. We'll be back!

Very happy with dinner at the elegant, yet comfortable, Hearsay. Good sized portions. My only negative comment would be that if the restaurant is charging for bread, it should be better and bigger than what was served.

The perfect evening spent at Hearsay. Loved the ambiance and piano playing softly (he is amazing), and have not yet started to describe the food and great service. Flavors were amazing on all 4 of our selections, portion sizes just perfect, and there is attention to detail clearly evident. Staff are checking in to see if everything is just right, and yet not overwhelming. Thank you for creating such a perfect evening for us. We look forward to our next visit!

We celebrated my sisters 60th birthday here and we were very happy with the food and service. The braised short ribs I had were amazing. My daughter is vegetarian, and she was really impressed with the variety on the vegetable plate. Our waitress was so sweet and efficient. There were several large parties dining that night, but we always felt well taken care of. Will definitely dine here again.

We had an excellent dinner with my folks last evening. Every thing we ordered was superb - goat cheese and seared tuna apps, salads (the beet and the Wedge), burger, ribs, tenderloin, and then deserts. some of us ordered the shrubs and others had wine. we loved the ambiance, the piano player, and the food was on point! every single bite :) Our server was kind and attentive (but not in our face every 5 minutes) - we all adored him! We'll be back for sure next time we visit Ashland. highly recommend!!

Wonderful food and cocktails here, with very attentive service. The vegetarian dish I had featured very fresh ingredients prepared thoughtfully.

Truly fine dining in a beautiful and unique room. Service was excellent with a combination of a server assisted by food runners. Food is decidedly upscale, well prepared, and the pace was perfect; no rush and no lag. Together with Larks at the Ashland Springs Hotel, just around the corner, a great two evenings in Ashland.

Had a lovely dinner—good drinks, fresh bread, endive salad ( delicious and creative). Then we had sirloin steak with delicious mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts. No room for dessert—just a lovely evening with piano music in the background.

Super location next to the cabaret theater. Excellent service, delicious food and drink. Super groovy decor. And lived the older gentleman playing the baby grand throughout. Fast service too btw which was nice

This is our most favorite restaurant in all of southern Oregon. We love everything about it. The atmosphere, the special drinks, the food, the service, etc. It’s beautiful, clean, and everyone is always so friendly.

Our server was absolutely outstanding. One friend had a birthday, and the restaurant provided a complimentary dessert surprise. What fun! I would have liked to see a few more entree choices, but all else was perfect.

The food was beyond delicious and the staff was very attentive even though they were quite harried by a large (loud) group. Dessert was difficult; too hard a choice and not really enough room, but some sacrifices are worth it! Great place and now we’re wondering why we waited so long to try it.

Wonderful paintings on the wall and a great long bar set the tone. The food is excellent and the service could not be better. Unlike several other restaurants in Ashland who have a time frame for your dinner, Hearsay allows you to set the pace of your meal.

Even on a busy Valentine's Day dinner evening the service was prompt, the server was knowledgeable, and everything went smoothly. The fettuccine was as good as it can be, and the scallop appetizer had a superb sauce.

Outstanding service, beautiful restaurant and some the most well cooked, flavorful and well presented food we’ve had. We got there early, but were welcomed the bar and our table was ready on time. The piano set a wonderful mood, complimented by the lovely decor. The beef tenderloin and the chicken milanse were outstanding.

Love the atmosphere. Wait staff were really friendly and wonderful and kept the water glasses full! We all enjoyed our dinner - caesar salad, seared pork belly (almost a meal in itself!), endive salad, clam linguini, Hearsay burger (great fries) and chicken milanese. All were wonderful! It's been a while since coming here, but we'll make it back sooner for sure!

We had the perfect meal from a well made drink to the best ice cream I’ve ever eaten. We originally went for the fun art of the walls but now go for the food and wait staff.

Comfortable, quiet piano bar lounge with FANTASTIC food. My only complaint is that the fried brussel sprouts were a bit too salty. The wait staff is exceptional, the ambiance is divine, and the food is, on the whole, outstanding. We used to have a different favorite restaurant in town, but that might be changing.

Beautiful and unique decor, the room feels spacious and quiet. This is one of the nicest restaurants I have seen outside of LA, I can't recommend Hearsay enough.

Beautiful, unique, cozy and lovely atmosphere! Dim lighting, gorgeous colors, artwork is unusual and very original. Delicious food, great service also. We’ve been going for years! So glad it is still open. And in warmer weather the outdoor patio is a delightful option with cozy, darling lighting, a great place ~

We find the tall seating tables in the bar area are great for quieter seating. Great balance of music in the main seating area and normal bar noise. Lovely. Our favorite night out for dinner.
