Located in the heart of Gramercy in the restored Assembly Hall of the landmarked United Charities Building, Hawksmoor is a steak restaurant that celebrates all-natural, pasture-reared, and traditionally dry-aged beef. Our beef is seasoned simply with sea salt and cooked over live-fire charcoal. Our seafood is locally and sustainably sourced from northeastern waters and we use small-farm produce whenever possible. On Sunday afternoons Hawksmoor keeps with the tried-and-true British tradition and features a Sunday Roast.

Completing our offerings are award-winning cocktails, including New York City's coldest martini, and a carefully curated wine selection. The restaurant houses 150 in the dining room and 35 in the bar area. There are also two private dining rooms that can hold 12 people and serve exclusive, family-style menus.

Sunday Roast

Sundays at Hawksmoor are all about our Sunday Roast: all-natural, dry-aged, slow-roasted Rump served with crispy beef dripping potatoes, Caraflax cabbage and carrots, gigantic Yorkshire puddings, lashings of bone marrow & onion gravy and the option for a side of cauliflower cheese or slow-roasted bone marrow and onions. Sunday Roast dates back to the 15th century where large joints of meat were roasted on a spit over an open fire; to achieve a similar flavor, we start ours on our charcoal grill and finish them in the oven. Many who've had a Sunday Roast equate it to a Thanksgiving dinner – a comforting, filling meal that is best in the company of loved ones. And, should a Bloody Mary, or two, be consumed alongside it, who are we to judge?

Very good restaurant, tasty meat, good wine, the waitress was very attentive, explained and offered the best suggestion. The only point to highlight is that the price is higher than other restaurants

Sunday roast experience is great! Food is lovely and portions are nice. Love the space. So beautiful. Highly recommended.

The restaurant is good, with great products - However, it's very noisy and this was the second time that different dishes weren't available.

We eat here when ever we are in NYC. It's very comparable the London locations in quality and service. My only complaint was that the Porterhouse came to the table tepid in temp which detracts from the dish.

Went here to celebrate our bosses Birthday. The staff was attentive and personable. The food was amazing, and we will definitely be back!

We were so disappointed. Wanted to love this Edinburgh hotspot in NYC. The food was wonderful, the noise level unacceptable, not to mention tables so close you could not help but make friends with your fellow diners. The service (lots of staff gathered in groups, including 5 at the hostess stand) was sporadic at best-- including celebratory birthday (sticky pudding) delivered to the table AFTER our bill was presented to the birthday boy!
