Located in the heart of Gramercy in the restored Assembly Hall of the landmarked United Charities Building, Hawksmoor is a steak restaurant that celebrates all-natural, pasture-reared, and traditionally dry-aged beef. Our beef is seasoned simply with sea salt and cooked over live-fire charcoal. Our seafood is locally and sustainably sourced from northeastern waters and we use small-farm produce whenever possible. On Sunday afternoons Hawksmoor keeps with the tried-and-true British tradition and features a Sunday Roast.

Completing our offerings are award-winning cocktails, including New York City's coldest martini, and a carefully curated wine selection. The restaurant houses 150 in the dining room and 35 in the bar area. There are also two private dining rooms that can hold 12 people and serve exclusive, family-style menus.

Sunday Roast

Sundays at Hawksmoor are all about our Sunday Roast: all-natural, dry-aged, slow-roasted Rump served with crispy beef dripping potatoes, Caraflax cabbage and carrots, gigantic Yorkshire puddings, lashings of bone marrow & onion gravy and the option for a side of cauliflower cheese or slow-roasted bone marrow and onions. Sunday Roast dates back to the 15th century where large joints of meat were roasted on a spit over an open fire; to achieve a similar flavor, we start ours on our charcoal grill and finish them in the oven. Many who've had a Sunday Roast equate it to a Thanksgiving dinner – a comforting, filling meal that is best in the company of loved ones. And, should a Bloody Mary, or two, be consumed alongside it, who are we to judge?

First time being there but it was the best steak I have ever had service was super good I will go back there again.

I'll be honest. My family and I had high expectations that were not lived up to. Steak tartare and scallop appetizers were good but extremely small. The steaks which are the star of the show were extremely underwhelming. I understand your method is charcoal grilling but the steaks were too well done for us. The ribeye did not look like what a regular ribeye should be. The chateaubriand was too chewy. That and the filet Mignon should have been more tender. The peanut butter Louis was excellent. And our server both and the bar as well as at our table were excellent. This is strictly a food review. And I am just hoping that perhaps it was an off day being your establishment has so many glowing and positive reviews.

First time here and went for the Sunday roast dinner. It did not disappoint. Great cocktails and the Sticky Toffee Sundae was a killer dessert. We’ll definitely be back.

The food was delicious!!! The filet and prime rib were cooked perfectly!!! The side order of mushrooms was breathtaking!! The smoked ? half lobster was so satisfying I regretted only ordering a half instead of a whole !! The toffee desert was something that I never experienced before!!! All in all the Hawksmoor far surpassed the hype !!! I would be remiss remiss if I didn’t acknowledge Jonathan and his fellow mixologists for concocting impressive and well balanced libations !!! What s wonderful culinary experience!!!!!

Food was good; a little cold when served and they were busy I felt bad the staff was overwhelmed. We had a good time.
