Located in the heart of Gramercy in the restored Assembly Hall of the landmarked United Charities Building, Hawksmoor is a steak restaurant that celebrates all-natural, pasture-reared, and traditionally dry-aged beef. Our beef is seasoned simply with sea salt and cooked over live-fire charcoal. Our seafood is locally and sustainably sourced from northeastern waters and we use small-farm produce whenever possible. On Sunday afternoons Hawksmoor keeps with the tried-and-true British tradition and features a Sunday Roast.

Completing our offerings are award-winning cocktails, including New York City's coldest martini, and a carefully curated wine selection. The restaurant houses 150 in the dining room and 35 in the bar area. There are also two private dining rooms that can hold 12 people and serve exclusive, family-style menus.

Sunday Roast

Sundays at Hawksmoor are all about our Sunday Roast: all-natural, dry-aged, slow-roasted Rump served with crispy beef dripping potatoes, Caraflax cabbage and carrots, gigantic Yorkshire puddings, lashings of bone marrow & onion gravy and the option for a side of cauliflower cheese or slow-roasted bone marrow and onions. Sunday Roast dates back to the 15th century where large joints of meat were roasted on a spit over an open fire; to achieve a similar flavor, we start ours on our charcoal grill and finish them in the oven. Many who've had a Sunday Roast equate it to a Thanksgiving dinner – a comforting, filling meal that is best in the company of loved ones. And, should a Bloody Mary, or two, be consumed alongside it, who are we to judge?

Came for Sunday Roast and it was delicious. Service was terrific and we had a very memorable meal! We will come back again.

It was absolutely amazing experience at Hawksmoor! Since the moment we arrived, they served us with amazing service and throughout the night. The food was SO delicious and every item on menu was heavenly!!!

For a restaurant that specializes in steak the T-bone was a little tough.

We've been visiting the steakhouses of NYC, comparing them with each other and Peter Luger, in particular. The bread and butter is good, the bacon is excellent, the Caesar salad unusual but very good, the French fries okay, but certainly nothing special, excellent creamed spinach, and then we come to the 30-ounce Porterhouse, done medium-rare. It was excellent, cooked as ordered, and the fillet was the most tender we have ever had. We left nothing of the steak on the platter. The taste was excellent, but not quite to the pinnacle of Peter Luger. Perhaps, the sizzling presentation of Peter Luger contributes to the taste but, in the end, there can be only one. And Peter Luger's Porterhouse flavor retains the crown. By the way, Luger's French fries were vastly superior, and the rolls set the standard. By the way, the dining experience is different. Peter Luger is much more old school, with the waiters memorizing your order. Different ambience entirely.

We had dinner at hawksmoor NYC for a birthday celebration. Everything from arriving to leaving was amazing. The place has loads of ambience, the staff were professional and welcoming. Kelly the AGM was faultless. We had the chateaubriand and it was cooked to perfection. When in manhattan why not have a manhattan? Post dinner drinks at the bar were fantastic. Thanks to all the staff for making our evening perfect!
