Fillet steak was prepared at the perfect temperature, but was very tough and coarse…only able to eat a few bites. Not at all what one expects from this cut. My guest’s ribeye was likewise not flavorful as one expects from a ribeye. Credit the restaurant that they did, at least, comp us for one of the steaks. However, a very disappointing experience given the hype surrounding this place. We did have a fabulous server…kudos.

We had a fabulous meal at Hawksmoor Edinburgh. Food, cocktails, wine and service are all first class. Also the building is very impressive.

Once we found the restaurant we couldn't fault it. The setting and layout is well thought out. The staff were attentative and knowledgeable. The food is first class never had a better fillet steak.

I’ve eaten at Hawksmoor’s restaurants on numerous occasions. This one was fine overall, but my steak was 50% inedible fat. A really poor cut.

Turned up for a roast only to be told they had ran out (1 hour before the supposed end of service). Was offered the option purchasing trimmings with a steak which would have made the food twice as expensive per person. Really bad service- wouldn’t recommend

Has the best steak and best tasting food, we never miss the chance to eat there when we travel to cities that have a Hawksmoor. Always situated in beautiful buildings and the food is to die for. Had the fillet steak and sticky toffee sunday for dessert. Highly recommend!

The place is nice and staff friendly but food is too salty and buttery for my liking. Ordered oyster and chicken. Bread is superb.

We went along on the back of what turned out to be a misleading ad offering 2 courses and a glass of wine for £30. Turned out to get that you needed to byob - and pay a corkage fee. And there were also only 3 choices of each course - so pretty limited. Food and service were fine but we felt we were there under false pretences and of course ended up spending a lot more than £30 each !!!

Delicious food, a bit pricier than I expected (£150 for two, 3 courses, two drinks) but it was worth it for a special night out. Service excellent and lovely place. I loved the marrow bone starter!

Nice place for having a funny grilled experience. Maybe it is a little bit expensive? But I cannot absolutely complain, the staff has been amazing, the quality of the food too. 😁

We loved to restaurant space and the service from Kylela our waitress was supreme. We have the oysters and scallops as an app that were fantastic. The steaks were cooked perfect and we highly recommend. We went on a Sunday evening and were surprised how busy the space was, this shows to how good the restaurant is.

Since relocating from Chicago to London, we have encountered difficulties in locating a reputable steakhouse. Subsequently, we reached the conclusion that the United Kingdom predominantly favors chicken and lamb as opposed to beef. However, our first assumption was incorrect. This restaurant offers some of the highest quality steak available. As an enthusiast of steak, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered a medium rare fillet and it was cooked flawlessly. Perfect crust on the outside, while the interior is pink, tender, and succulent. The hospitality and warmth of the staff members was exceptional. My daughter experienced a mild cough and was unable to consume any drinks. However, she was provided with a ginger-infused drink, which she thoroughly relished. Overall, it was a fantastic experience.

My only complaint about the food was the size of my starter (potted ham and beef with Yorkshire Puddings and onion gravy) the taste was wonderful but because the 2 Yorkshire puddings were the size of my fist my husband kindly ate half of it. The courses came quickly but we were never rushed. Loads of friendly staff and the restaurant was in a beautiful setting.

The sides were excellent. Steaks were ok, not great. Our server Sarah was clueless. Simple question about entree and side could not be answered. Each question required Sarah to bring another waiter to our table to answer. Sarah acknowledged that she has only been there for a few weeks however that is no excuse for a total lack of knowledge. Her dirty fingernails was the final straw. We expected more from such a pricey restaurant

Our server Mary was amazing. Knew when to come by and when to let us visit. When we told her we were in a bit of a hurry for dessert she made it happen. Thank you for your outstanding work!

Great spot for a special meal of just a date night. It's all about the steak, but there are plenty of other options and a good choice of wines and cocktails. Amazing space and a real buzz!

This was our 8th visit which should tell you something. We always enjoy coming here. It's a lovely big old banking hall with a great vibe about it. The menu caters for both carnivores and vegetarians with sufficient choice for both camps to be satisfied. We really enjoyed our choices, but then we always do. The staff are very friendly and helpful, with service being efficient without being intrusive or seeming rushed. Oh, and the cocktails are very good as well!
