We visit Havana Central every time we come to NYC. The food is solid, the service is always spotty. The visit this week we were disappointed with the service and got a cold plate=not warmish-dead cold. But the waiter disappeared so we sat there waiting to catch someone's attention to get it heated. Once corrected the food was solid, as usual. Never got my coffee refilled, nor our water. Waited a full 10 minutes to get someone to bring the bill, another five for him to come get the CC . This place is always jamming. They could turn tables much more quickly with better service. While I like "energetic" music, as the description allowed here, a more accurate descriptor of the music would be obnoxiously loud. Loud to the point you cannot hear each other yelling across the table. We'll be back but just for the quality of the food.

Both the food and service was ok; most of the items we ordered weren't hot. We had a reservation for 6pm and arrived there 10 minutes before; we weren't allowed to be seated.

We had the taco trio. The shrimp taco was the best out of all of them. The chicken taco tasted like cardboard, no season and just hard and dry. The steak taco was super dry. The burgers we had though, super gooooood. The environment was very beautiful but too loud. To point I couldn’t hear the person in front of me and we had to scream across to talk.

We had a lot of problems to get there in time due to crazy NJ to NY traffic but the H staff was so understanding and kind. And then we had the best food and overall experience in our stay here! Very tasteful and high quality food with a excellent ambiance. Plus the location is splendid which makes this a must when in the NYC 👍🏾👍🏾

I have eaten here for a birthday and for New Year's. Always fun and festive. Staff is friendly and the food is interesting and well prepared. Loved the guava ribs, empanada sampler, garlic shrimp with rice. The drink menu is massive! Very enjoyable!

Best dining experience this trip. Our waiter was amazing. Food and drinks were great. Loved the atmosphere. So welcoming and accommodating for kids! I brought my 3 year old and 5 year old with me.

We started our meal with the Cuban sampler appetizer, which was an absolute delight. It was the perfect way to whet our appetites for the main course. First got there early and didn’t want to seat us. There were all empty tables. The waitress was excellent however very rushed. They kept bringing us everyone’s order. When we got food it was actually cold Very disappointing as was looking forward to returning here

Too noisy to have a conversation while eating. It has been a number of years since I have eaten there and it is in need redecorating. It looks old and in need of rehabilitation. Owners should consider redecorating. I know of a couple of other Cuban restaurants I would recommend rather than going to HCTS.

Food and service were fantastic!! Everything and more. Than we expected - especially the staff - absolutely fantastic! The tables are too tiny for two seaters - my only complaint. That said… we can’t wait to go back soon!!

As other reviewers have written, this is a loud, energetic destination. The band is situated right in the lobby entrance, so if you’d prefer not to have to raise your voice while having a conversation, you’d definitely be better off requesting a seat towards the rear of the restaurant, or upstairs. The music adds so much to the charm of this place. It’s a sizable restaurant with high ceilings & a 1940’s vintage vibe. The menu is simple, covers all the classic dishes & the food was very well prepared. Considering how busy it was there, neither our drinks, nor our food took long to arrive. The servers were excellent & showed no signs of fatigue or frustration given just how busy they were attending to a full dining room. This is truly an unexpected gem to be found in Times Square, which is generally thought of as a real tourist trap. I’d definitely recommend this restaurant, & strongly suggest making a reservation ahead of time if planning on dining during the more popular hours of 7-9pm.

Know before you go - this is a loud, themed Cuban restaurant. If that‘s your vibe, have a blast. I did! There was live music, delicious mojitos, tasty food, and lots and lots of people. It was a party! And because we made a reservation, we were instantly seated. It was packed, lively, and loads of fun.

Food was good. Burger and wings were flavorful. It was loud but it’s also part of the vibe with great music! Biggest issue was: We had show tickets and a little anxious because it was busy and service was slow - others after us got their food before us. Overall great place and good experience.

Food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Birthday dessert and fadora made the day. Waitstaff was pleasant. Hostess was attentive. Location was perfect. I would highly recommend.

We arrived 15 mins early and we're seated on the spot. We were in and out in just over an hour including dinner and drinks with plenty of time to make our show. Flavorful high quality food and would recommend!

We went to Havana Central on a Saturday at a time between matinee and evening performances of theatre. The place was packed, people were waiting for a table, but since we had a reservation, we were immediately ushered to our seat. Despite all the busyness, our server was efficient and checked in on us at periodic intervals. The food was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our drinks, appetizers and meal. We've been to Havana Central before, but not this location. I would recommend it, but caution to make a reservation at busy times. It is very popular!
