Arrived ten minutes early for our booking at 8pm to be told we didn't have a reservation. Once reservation was found, apology was made and we were told that they were short staffed and our table for two was next to a big party. We were invited to have a drink at the bar, we waited for twenty minutes without any acknowledgement or a drink so then made the decision to leave. Anniversary dinner ruined.

Lovely meal, service good, slight delay with drinks but there was a staff shortage, Every member of staff was friendly & helpful. High seating was a little uncomfortable for those of us who aren't 6 foot tall, need a suitable foot rest.

I have been to Haus several times but for Sunday roast My wife and myself was very disappointed the food was know way upto the normal Haus standard I did complain and some money was deducted I wanted good food not money off

Lovely setting, really nice decor. Had the signature sharing roast and a bottle of wine. Love the concept, but the small plates given to us I’m not sure about. Bit awkward to eat from, however in saying that we managed 🙂. All 3 meats were lovely, and veg options were more than enough. No real complaints food wise. I guess if I had to gripe the food wasn’t that hot. It wasn’t cold but you get my drift. bottle of wine was fairly priced and staff were extremely attentive. Would definitely give it another try.

What a fabulous restaurant. The decor, the lighting, the staff and a great menu, with food cooked to perfection. Definitely one of our favorite restaurants now.

This was the second time we have been to Haus, the first time was lovely. This time it was expensive, so dark that we had to use our phones to read the menu (other diners were doing the same), the toilets were very dark,and the table in the corner we had was very squashed in so not very relaxing.

Delicious food in a relaxed and romantic environment. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our visit was perfect, with a lovely little surprise treat thrown in for my partner's birthday. Our first visit here and we will definitely be back - a real asset to Maldon!

First time at Haus. The food and service were impeccable, the ambience and decor was great. We had a fabulous evening and will definitely be returning and recommending to friends , family and others. Overall excellent.

High prices, undercooked food and small portions. The goats cheese beetroot starter my wife ordered had two minuscule blobs of goats cheese on it and was £9. My pork main course was undercooked in the middle, had far too much mash and too little sauce for £30. My wife’s main of fillet beef was severely undercooked and had the texture of ham; she left half of it. Both mains came with the same garnishes (burnt leeks) which made me think the chefs don’t have enough varied produce or ideas. The bottle of Pinot Nior was just ok and probably the highlight of the meal. We decided to skip dessert due to the above and gawped at the £126 bill (with an included £11 service charge). The servers were not attentive at all; one took about 10 minutes to bring over some mayonnaise for my wife’s chips. Won’t be going back there again.

Ambience great, service great, but £67 for 2 roast dinners?!! - no starters, no desserts, 1 soft drink and 1 medium glass of wine. £23 for chicken roast PLUS having to pay £5 for broccoli cheese which was 3 small florets, so effectively £25.50 each for a roast dinner!!! Would really love to go back, but I'm afraid at those prices, can not justify it. Considering there are many places in Maldon that do roasts for £15 - £17.

Over priced. Not a fine dining experience. Disappointing. Waitress tried hard but needed more support. Lighting unsafe in toilet area. Meals incomplete according to the menu. Needed sides as an extra expense. Limited choice (unless you like beef!)

Chateaubriand for 2 was excellent, great meat and great cooking. The chef absolutely nailed it. The presentation was fabulous, it tasted as amazing as it looked. It’s not cheap because it’s quality, you get what you pay for, and some.

Another wonderful meal at Haus, this time a shared Sunday roast platter. Excellent value. All meats were tender and tasty with lovely sides of winter greens and broccoli cheese. Servers were most friendly and attentive.

Delicious Sunday roast, beautifully prepared. Great value for money because portion sizes are good. Lovely service, they are happy to help. Just need to serve the first drinks a little sooner.

Our first visit to Haus, and we shall most definitely return. A warm welcome on arrival, the lighting is quite low (far more flattering than bright lights!) and the tables and booths seemed well spaced out. A concise menu with some interesting touches - likewise the wine list catered for all tastes. Our food was piping hot and served on hot plates, good size portions and very nicely cooked - especially the vegetables, beautifully crisp. Service was a little slow to start but was soon back on track. Staff are charming and we were able to see the chefs at work, rather fun. All in all an excellent evening. It’ll be interesting to see how often the menu is changed but as it’s a moderately new enterprise I imagine they will want to take their time to gauge the tastes of the diners. Good luck Haus!

Best meal out we've had in Maldon for some time. Stunning décor and genuinely couldn't fault any of the dishes we tried - Happy to have found Haus and given it a try as we're already looking forward to returning !
