HATCH is an izakaya bar & grill featuring yakitori, a fresh raw bar, and trendy California flavors for a unique and creative signature flare. We celebrate craft cocktails, draft beers and sake highlighting Japanese specialties – specifically Japanese whiskies.

We are lively and casual, with a fun dining experience that families, couples and friends can enjoy. Diners can expect a colorful journey of yummy tapas-style portions to share in an energetic and contemporary setting, where great food meets good times.

We wanted this place to be so good: it wasn’t. Awful, inattentive service. We shared food and it was coursed out - whilst the waiter brought more food, the empty (post eating) plates stacked and stacked and stacked, leaving little room for the new dishes to be placed down. This didn’t phase the waitstaff: they left the used plates even after we asked if they could take them away. Overpriced food with little discerning flavors was also a reason why we won’t be back. Clunky metal furniture that made loud noises if you moved slightly wasn’t so great either. The cocktails were watered down and sugary. Lots of potential with this place on the surface, but the staff and management don’t seem to be interested in that or its customers’ experience. We were just so disappointed, as we live close ht and wanted a new place to go regularly.

The prix fixe menu was interesting but they served the soup out of order and then brought the final four courses all at once doubled up on the same plates. It was strange. So, some food became cold and we were confused about what sauce went with which food. The waiters were nice, however, a little dismissive and busy socializing with folks at the bar. I was so excited about this and wanted to love it, but it was just fine- I wouldn’t race back.

Pairing of ingredients was novel and tasty. We went during happy hour and tried countless things. Servers were helpful. Sat on the patio which was quieter. Will return.

I was a little disappointed about my drink. I assumed that what I saw in the picture which appeared to be some sort of garnishment, was included. I guess not. Aside from that small ordeal, the food was delicious and flavorful. It was definitely a nice experience and the staff was wonderful and attentive. This restaurant had been on my list for months and I had the opportunity to try it out. It was successful and I’ll be going again… considered to be on my list of favorites and go to dining.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary and so pleasantly surprised at the variety of flavors in each dish. The chef has the talent of marrying unique flavors where every dish is dynamic and delicious.

The lunch was for a casual business meeting. It was not busy so noise levels were down. The good was good although a little pricey for what it was. But then again everything is pricey these days. Service was very good. I would recommend.
