Absolutely the best yakitori in LA!! Even better than what I’ve had in Japan. It ain’t cheap but the yardbird at Hasu is divine, so expertly prepared, grilled and presented. And the side dishes are remarkable too, like the Hamachi Kama (Grilled Yellowtail Collar) which really hit the spot like a Shohei bomb!!! Plenty of strip mall parking, close to 405……what more can you ask for when Hasu can satisfy your urge for some fantastic chicken on a stick!!

TORRANCEのHACHIは日本人客が多くCOSTA MESAはアジア系が多い。その違いがあるからか、COSTA MESAはサービスの質がTORRANCEに劣るのではないか。

This is one of our most favorite spots to go to for Yakitori! They have other items that are great also! The ladies seem to recognize us since we frequent this place often! The Yakitori items we have tried were: Chicken Thigh, Chicken Breast, Chicken Meatballs, Chicken Oyster, Scallops, Pork Belly, Asparagus & Pork Belly, Zucchini, Shishito, Prime Beef, Gingko Nuts, and Shrimp, plus more I can't think of. There is a Tomato & Mozzarella Cheese Skewer that is refreshing! I would get most of these skewers again and try some others! You could see the char & taste the smokiness from the grill! It's best to make a reservation for this restaurant because they are often booked up! It's a nice place for a fairly quiet meal. Food is brought out as it is ready. There doesn't seem to be a particular order from what we've experienced. I think only one time they missed an item and prepared it after we asked about it. Other than that, they've got a good system that works for them!

Hasu is truly excellent. The flavor is what you crave and seek out. Just returned from Tokyo. Was having a hard time just stopping eating great Japanese food cold turkey. Needed really good yakitori and the chef delivered. Excellent service from the waitress. Clean dining and good music playing. Can get loud but it was unusually empty. Made us feel like we reserved the whole place for privacy. I’ve been there when it’s a packed out. Just as fun. Make a reservation so you don’t have to wait.

Better than Japan!! Enough said. Spent a lot of time and numerous visits to my birthplace this past year and had my share of yakitori in various joints from Roppongi hole in the walls to Hakata mom&pop food vendors. Honestly Hasu’s yardbird skewers are the best!! OK, the smokeless interior and lounge/piano music may or may not be your style when thinking gritty, bench warming yakitori and cheap sake straight out of the bottle cold but really what comes to your table is pure perfection, attention to detail and utmost quality. And the outstanding Japanese lady servers are most friendly and attentive here. Love their “Jacko” Hasu salad and grilled onigiri, both made with baby anchovies, then washed down with my fav Japanese beer, ice cold Asahi Super Dry on tap. Plus you can’t beat this safe Torrance location close to 405 in a strip mall that has a Starbucks with plenty of parking. It ain’t cheap but you get what you pay for at Hasu, a strong recommendation for family, friends and first dates!!

Great spot. Needed a last minute reso since my friends flight was delayed. Food was good! I’d recommend this spot for some good yakitori/izakaya on a more elevated dining experience
