Hanale is a quaint restaurant and sake lounge, created by the folks at Islander Sake Brewery. Located in Honolulu's Chinatown district, which is a great place to go to have a drink or bite to eat. We invite you to taste the sake we brew, paired together with "Ate" (あて, ah-teh), which in Japanese language is a word that translates to small dishes of tasty food meant to accompany your drink . Our dining courses are designed to maximize the tasting experience of sake, by selecting ‘ate’ that highlights subtle characteristics through fun and delicious flavor combinations.

    Omakase at Hanale was delightful. The chef was polite and interactive. The food quality and taste was excellent. The sake pairing is a most do! The history of sake in Hawaii is very interesting and it’s best to learn about it over great sushi here at Hanale. We sat at the bar, but there’s also room for larger parties with and you get the same quality of service. We enjoyed our dinner so much that we will be back!

    Incredible!!! The best service and sake ive ever had, they give you so many courses the sushi is so fresh and the whole experience is exeptional

    Amazing Omikase experience! A friend and I did the sake pairing as well. Heavy pours and amazing quality sake. We both requested to not have any fruit sake samples so the host had other options to try, some which were made by friends back in Japan! I would recommend to any sake lover who also wants to have a great meal!

    Outstanding service from the owner Tama and the sushi chef who recently moved from Japan. The fish was fresh and the sake was solid. Can't wait to come back and visit again.

    Horrible experience. I will never go again and I suggest others stay away. Food was ok, but the server was horrible.
