Food was horrible. Stringy meat not quality which was portrayed. We couldn’t wait to leave and we left all the meat, went way down since last time I had been there.

Went for Happy Hour and probably won't return for a while. Ordered two "mojitos with lychee". When the bill came, they were $13.50 each (including $1.50 extra for each for lychee puree). When I brought this to the waiter's attention, saying that they should have been the Happy Hour price of $10.50 each, he said I had ordered "mojitos with lychee", not "gin mojitos with lychee". When we first sat down we told the waiter we were happy to see him again, having been there for dinner a few weeks earlier. When I brought up the issue with the drinks, he said I had ordered incorrectly if we had wanted the Happy Hour mojitos. I was taken aback - this is not how to treat a repeat customer! Other than this unpleasant ending, the meal was terrific as usual.

Food quality is good. It’s BBQ so pretty much your cooking skill matters. Service is good and responsive. One thing we don’t like is the noise. The music is pretty loud!

Fun idea. Great service. Not good food. If you want to cook your own meat, and a lot of it, this restaurant delivers. It is a fun concept, with every table having a hot grill in the center and lots of food for the price. But nothing was very good and we will not return.

Had lots of fun here on a work dinner. The AYCE was a delicious value. Only downside was it was hot. Made the meat sweats worse. Would definitely recommend and return.

We’ve been to the Gyu-Kaku back home in Los Angeles but this one was much better. Bennett was a great host, meat seemed to be a better quality. Fun and casual atmosphere. It just just a great night

the food here is absolutely fantastic. i will say for the price, there are other bbq places that give you far more food for the same price. their happy hour is unmatched. our server was ok but the service overall is exceptional. the hostess was incredible. will be back and will recommend!

I have been to Gyu-Kaku several times. (Astor place & times square) This time we visiting the Times Sq location which is pretty run down. Food portions seem to be getting smaller. It is a convinient location if going to a show

Was a bit disappointed that the garlic fried rice is no longer prepared at the table. The garlic in the new way its serve is raw and rice was only warm.

Lovely experience. The restaurant is sleek and comfortable. Food was delicious and it was perfect for my Valentine’s Day celebration with my girlfriend. She loved the ambiance and we will be coming back in the future!

Always a great spot, here and in Chicago. Staff are really friendly and attentive, the food is delicious and it's good value. We got a set menu for 3, between 4 of us and it more than enough.

Hi i treated my friend for her bday she was amazed . She loved everything about it food ,drinks ambiance . I felt good to know I made the right choice to bring her to gyu-kaku. . She ask me how I know about this restaurant, I said a special person treated me last year for my bday 😉

I didn’t like feeling as rushed as I did because of one of the servers. Don’t go late night otherwise risk feeling like your meal is being rushed and your conversation constantly interrupted because they ask to take an empty plate or two that’s at the edges of the table for that specific reason. The food was great as always and my date night wasn’t as bad as the experience with the server rushing us. Being a customer for Gyu-Kaku as long as I have, I’d prefer going to the one in Flushing instead.

Best Japanese BBQ in NYC. Select of BBQ meats is outstanding. And they use a great marinade that puts them over the top. Very helpful server too.

We opted for the Wagyu course for two. While the Korean-style fried chicken pleasantly surprised us with its crispy exterior and juicy, tender meat, the Wagyu beef fell short of our expectations. Having experienced Wagyu beef in Japan, this didn't quite measure up. On a positive note, our server was exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Overall experience was okay. The restaurant wasn’t full and still didn’t get good service. Waiter didn’t come often to make sure we had all we needed had to ask other workers for help. Food was okay downtown location has better service and food.
