Gyukaku is such a wonderful experience. As a Chef myself I usually hate going out and having to cook my own food but some friends convinced me to go and I’m so glad I did.

The food was very good and quite plentiful. Our server was excellent, but service was a bit slow. When making the reservation, I tried calling the restaurant using two different numbers that I found. Neither number worked.

I love this place so much. Normally, I have a good experience every time I go. This is probably one of the worst services I’ve gotten in my life. My sister sat at the table first and I probably got there 5 minutes after her and she said no one had been by to take her drink order. It was probably another 10 minutes or so after I sat before someone came by. The food was delicious as always. However, since we hardly saw our server, it was difficult to order more meats and food. We were ready to go after the first round of meats, so we ordered some hot food to go and left.

Great food, drinks, and service! We went at 5pm so we had some happy hour special options still. Shared the package for 4 which was the perfect amount of filling our bellies and having some left overs. This is my 3rd time there, and definitely not my last!

What a cool restaurant. We decided to a la carte menu and everything was fantastic! We tried multiple cuts of beef and pork. They were all delicious and fresh! I also enjoyed being able to cook at your own pace. Highly recommend this expierence!

This Gyu Kaku location has lost its quality over the years. We stopped by for lunch yesterday and it was pretty slow. We were sat right away but it took 5-10 minutes for someone to greet us. The appetizers were delicious and flavorful as usual, but the beef tongue again didn’t look very fresh. It seems to be a recurring problem at this location as we had the same problem last time. We had a server that came by every once in a while but the food runner dropped off 80% of our food. I feel when dining in, you should definitely see your server more than the food runner. What’s up with that? She also never brushed oil on the grill for us when we started eating, and neither did the manager when he came by to do a grill change for us. It was frustrating since our meats kept sticking to the grill. We love gyu kaku but the average experiences at this location lately have been a big turn off.

We went with the server’s recommendation of an upgraded meat menu and it was great. Really enjoyed this meal. Only complaint is ventilation could be a bit better.

We are frequent diners in this restaurant and we have same requests everytime we are dining. This time our server Jessica was really rude i express it to her that there’s an food in our appetizer that we always change she said oh no that will nver happen, i told her that our grill has only heat/flame in 1 side and she said that is fine just rotate the food and i also express the fact that one of meat has a bone still in it. She ddnt care

This is a fun place to go with friends to have an interactive meal. Our server was polite. The food was very good with the exception of what they want to call fondue broccoli. That was a let down. Putting cheese whiz, or Velveeta in a metal tin cup, and calling that fondue was not good the geisha cocktail was refreshing overall a very good experience.

Due to unexpected traffic, I had to push our reservation back three times. The hostess was very patient and gracious when we arrived. Because we were going to the theater, we only had 45 minutes to dine. Our server, Duy, was excellent! His recommendations were spot on. Our drinks and food arrived promptly and allowed us to grill and still depart on time. Cocktails and entire meal were delicious and we will return. Thank you to the great staff!

Our experience at Gyu was amazing. We made a reservation so the wait was not long. The waiter was very friendly and helpful with the menu. After ordering it did not take long at all for the food to come out.

My first time to a Japanese barbecue restaurant. We went in a large group and ordered the feast for six people. It was a lot of fun sitting there talking and cooking our food over the table grill. Unique experience. I would highly recommend it for any type of group outing.

I was blown away by how good everything was here, the waitstaff was awesome. It was a little pricey, but it was worth it for the amount of food and quality.

Wasn’t as good as we expected and our table was dysfunctional. The drink I had was delicious- and the edamame was also good! Probably won’t eat here again though

It was very busy. The food was tasty as usually, but we waited for almost an hour with a reservation. I would avoid during the holiday season for dinner.

Incredible food and service. I don’t normally think about Japanese food while in NOLA but it was Christmas night and it was one of the few places open. Glad we discovered it because we will return!

Wanted to like this place, but it just didn't sit particularly well with me. It's less the service and food quality, but numerous items on the menu being "unavailable" (some for extended periods). Sure, I get that there will be outages from time to time, but....with a chain THIS extensive.....there's no excuse for MULTIPLE menus listings to be "out". This made it particularly challenging for me, having limited options to begin with due to medical issues.....requiring some creative workarounds. While my family enjoyed THEIR meals, I was stuck without options. If that's the case, note it ahead of time....rather than waiting for the diner to ask/be turned down.

We really enjoyed our dinner at Guy-Kaku. Our waiter was informative and friendly. The food was better than expected. They serve quality meats and the rice dish is great!
