I took my family out for a Mother's Day dinner. My teenagers love gym Kaku . We love gyu Kaku. we live on the east side but have been to the west 91st location the last couple of times. It Is fairly new and clean. But the east side was not so hygienic. From the walls to the booths and bathrooms. We still enjoyed ourselves and the food is always good. But it needs to be freshened up.

Food was good but requires some work (BBQing) on the part of the customer. We were a party of seven and the table was quite small and was sized for six people so it was crowded and uncomfortable. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor of the building so access may be an issue for people with mobility issues.

Took my 3 kids. Clearly the person choosing who sits where does nothing, as the table next to us was awful. 5 dudes cursing every other word acting like pretend gangsters. Not what my 3 kids need to listen to for 90 minutes. Disgraceful.

Server was so rude !!!! Ruined the experience. I’ve been to other Gyu kaku’s in upper manhattan as well as Philadelphia, 10/10 experience at those locations. This one TRASH!

The staff service is not good because a receptionist often leaves the spot so nobody can talk, and there are too few staff for serving so it takes a lot of time to take them for next order. This restaurant doesn't realize what a lost opportunity it is.

The table was too small for a group of 7 people, and with no coat rack available it was extremely tight. The food was great. The waiter would bring drinks and sauces very late, almost at the end of the meal.

The service at this location is always awful. I literally had to ask for this 3x every time. I had to ask for the table sauces 3x, had to ask for water refill 3x. The service is just bad.

I love Gyu-Kaku. The food is like any other. It is my favorite place to go to celebrate, gather with friends and family, or eat with my partner.

Had a reservation at 9:45 p.m. When we were seated, our waiter started pointing out the valentine’s day menu with all the meat specials and such. We ordered drinks, then we ordered appetizers. We wanted to really get to know the menu before committing to some of the meat. He asked if that was all we wanted but it was very difficult to hear him, as the restaurant was so loud and everyone was talking kinda quiet. I said “Yes, for now.” After a while of having our appetizers be brought out, we finally asked if we could order meat because our waiter hadn’t stopped by our table since the first or second appetizer had been brought out. We got told that the kitchen closes at 10. The energy I was getting was very much “why don’t you already know when our kitchen closes?” Why accept reservations 15 minutes before your kitchen closes?? They even lit our grill and kept it on the whole time. We were not told firsthand “By the way, our kitchen closes in 15 minutes so if you want meat, i’d order it now.” It was valentine’s day and it quite frankly kinda ruined it. We had been traveling all day to jersey city from the PNW and needed a nice dinner. We paid $102 for mediocre appetizers and a drink that just wasn’t strong enough. The rice from the spicy tuna tasted like fast food french fry oil and the takoyaki was very doughy. The egg soup was literally broth with scrambled eggs in it, which was a different take on egg soup than I was used to but it wasn’t bad at all. The sauces they have on the table are amazing but I really needed to add a lot to the soup. This is the midtown location so I could never expect it to be that amazing. I’ll have to try the others when I come back!

Everything was great, from service to food, only thing at the end, when I received my bill I had seen I got charged more than what I owed, server took the receipt back and gave me the correct one without apologizing, as if she knew? Don’t get me wrong, she was great but that was a foul move at the end that cost her a bigger tip.

They made us wait for 45 mins for the meat. The appetizer came in late too. Server never came back after serving the appetizer. We kept asking the servers but they never came back

Servers were super nice and knowledgable. I really wanted Sake and my waiter Jose knew exactly which one to recommend and it was super good. This was my first time doing Korean BBQ, and I am SOLD. We did the chefs choice for two people and it was sooo much food. Really great value. And everyone was just so attentive and friendly. THANK YOU, I will be back!

Hubby and I went for post holiday early dinner. Our server was nice and very attentive to our needs. We are regulars of Gyu and the food is always good. We had chosen the premium holiday magic course for 2 with mochi ice cream but disappointedly they were out. Otherwise a great place to eat and view the city as it's on 2nd floor. Would certainly be here often

I had a great time it was 4 time eating at the franchise but 3rd at this particular location. I think it’s a great simple way to spend the holiday or even a date. It was a bit loud but I get it. Good was okay. Drink could’ve been stronger but overall it is a nice place to eat it staff is friendly
