The fried rice wasn't good, steak overcooked. Chocolate fondue was nothing more than chocolate milk. Spent 200 dollars for a mother's day visit and it was dissapointing. Should have gone to hibachi

The restaurant was dirty. There were trays with used dishes all around the place on the floor. Cleaning devices were visible from the tables as they were simply stacked against dirty doors and windows- don’t go

Food is probably one of our favorite in Cincinnati. Service has never been their strong suit in the years we’ve been coming. This particular time they called us 4 min after our reservation time threatening us because we were late due to a bad accident on 71. They said because we were late and they were busy we would have to cut our dining short. This was improper for 2 main reasons 1) Your own late policy states a 15 minute grace period so why are you threatening customers after 4 minutes and 2) More than half the restaurant was empty when we arrived. Service and overall Customer Experience could be improved.

The overall experience exceeds our expectations. It's very quiet, classy, food and service are spectacular. This is why we're coming back to this restaurant and just booked another reservation. A wonderful experience indeed if you enjoy quality Japanese food and cooking, worth every penny!

It was good until the lady made a comment saying you know the tip is not included right because I selected none for a tip but left her a cash tip and I was like your tip is on the table….she was rude didn’t like her

Nikki was my server and she was friendly. She recommended us the couples flight which we did. It did take about 30 minutes or more until we got our meat to cook when we were on a time crunch. The table next to us was extremely loud so I was unable to have a conversation with my date. Food was a large amount for fair pricing. We will go back but will ask to be in a more secluded table towards the front.

We went with the chefs choice for 2- very happy overall and would recommend if you’ve never been before! Lots of food! The gyu sushi was delicious and so was the beef bibinmap rice.

Great experience for a late Valentine’s day dinner. Was going to order off the Valentine’s day menu but having been one of us first time there we choose the all you could eat to try out a couple different meets and appetizers. The service was great!

My sister spoke highly of this restaurant to us so for our 15th year anniversary, we decided to give it a shot and it did not disappoint. The menu was a bit complicated but fortunately, there was a Valentine’s meal special going on so it was as simple as possible ordering. Our waiter, Abraham, was kind and knowledgeable. He provided excellent recommendations and really made our first experience as amazing as possible. This wasn’t a big deal at all but when we placed the reservation, we were asked for the occasion of our visit, which we mentioned that we’re celebrating our anniversary. It would have been nice if it were brought up during our visit, but it wasn’t. It didn’t take away our amazing experience here. As top notch as our waiter was, the rest of the staff were inattentive. I will not take points away for this since our reservation was within 2 hours of their closing time. The meal itself? Mind blowing. This is one of those experiences where you cook your proteins and vegetables over a hot grill on your table to your liking. It may seem intimidating but there are guides or cooking instructions nearby. Every marinades steak strips, shrimp, and chicken that we ate was complimentary to each other. They had the best miso soup I’ve ever had, and the item that absolutely made the meal so glorious, there steak fried rice. Please give this experience a try, I believe it’s worth every penny and we will now come to this restaurant more frequently.

The food is great but service is hit or miss. Last night I ordered a glass of wine, and observed that the quantity provided was unusually small. Despite noticing the discrepancy, I refrained from expressing concerned, as the cost seemed to comparatively lower than other places. Upon ordering a second glass, I mentioned to the server that my perception of the original portion was very small. The server returned with the wine in a different glass asserting that all pours are standardized and identical. I was informed that the original glass had created an illusion of reduced volume, the subsequent poor, and what I consider the standard restaurant size glass seemed more appropriate. My concern lies in the perceived lack of emphasis on customer service, and experience, as the blame appeared to be directed towards me without adequate consideration. Not to mention that I was sitting near the bar and visually witnessed pours not being “measured”. Additionally, there has been inconsistency in the server recommendations- on one visit a server suggested a meal for three when we were a party of four taking into account the presence of two children however, on a subsequent visit with similar age configuration, we were informed that such an arrangement was not permissible. The disparity in guidance has led to confusion and lack of clarity in the service experience overall. It’s gone downhill since opening, and for the first time last night we asked each other how much longer this place would be in business. It was very quiet for a Friday evening - perhaps others have had similar experiences and are deciding to spend elsewhere?

Server had just come from a smoke break so the cigarette smell emanating from her was heavy. She was not welcoming, no smile, seemed annoyed that we were there. Our entire meal took less than 30 minutes but she still seemed like she wanted to rush us out. The zucchini was delicious otherwise all other food was just ok. Overpriced for the experience. No plans on returning. It was not worth it.

Enjoyed a combo meal with my husband - we ordered a combo for three just based on the food we wanted to try. Had leftovers but would have been an accurate amount for three people as it was described on the menu. I would have appreciated more of an explanation on what each meat was, that is the only reason I gave a 4 out of 5. Our food was great though and we enjoyed being able to cook fairly quickly as the meat is cut into very thin slices.

Made a reservation but didn’t get seated until 30 minutes after we showed up and the hostess at the front never explained why we had to wait and when asked she was somewhat rude as I watched her seat a group of three as soon as they walked in. What’s the point of making a reservation when you’re going to have to wait 30 minutes to be seated! I understand things happen but communicating to the customer about why is all it takes to make the situation right and customers won’t assume the worst when seeing other patrons being seated immediately when they walk in!

The food and BBQ experience are amazing. Definitely more of a tapas/family-style menu where everyone can share. We frequent this place and a good estimate for per person cost would be between $35-$45, and they have bundle deals for groups of 2+. What’s disappointing here is the service. We always have to wait to be served after we are seated, just to place our drink order. There also isn’t much checking in to see if you need anything, which can make it tricky if you want to order more. Also, at our most recent visit, the restaurant didn’t seem very clean. We were sat at the back by the kitchen entrance and we could easily see a messy floor leading into the back. The bathroom was also nasty. We will continue to eat here, but only because of the food. The ambiance has declined and isn’t as nice as it used to be.

Fun experience - a Japanese BBQ grill version of the Melting Pot. We did a holiday special package for 4 and we took food home even though there was 5 of us. Only downside is it felt a bit rushed as they bring the food in courses very quickly.

It is always great to dine at Guy Kaku: the food is great, the convivial atmosphere created by cooking on the table grill is unparalleled, and we always get out of this restaurant with a big smile on our faces, our 7-yo son included!

They are really hit & miss restaurant. The time before was wonderful, so we went back. This time was very disappointing; the wagyu beef was over priced & the beef tongue tasted old. The way meats were served was off from the way we knew, such as beef tongue first, and the soup later. We complained about Kimuchee, and stopped complaining. We didn’t want them to think we were claimers. This visit was disappointing. We hope their food quality were always up to standard.

My husband and I just had such a fun time, sampling different foods in a comfortable and light environment. The service was great. We’ll be back again for more fun sometime in the future!

Poor service, good food and fun atmosphere. We have dined at this establishment several times. Our reservation was 6 and we were seated upon arrival. It took waiter 15 min (i looked at my watch) to come to our table. First thing out is his mouth “are you ready to order?” No greeting, no offer of beverages, nothing. We had to ask several times for water refill, utensils, etc. We were presented with a check and the waiter just stood there waiting for me to pay.

The food is always good. This time the portions were very inconsistent and we were overcharged. The wait staff seem to be overloaded so they can’t come to the table to give basic refills or utensils. Our service felt very chaotic and the value wasn’t as good this time.
