We were staying at the JW Marriott from May 1 to May 8 , 2024 . The property and restaurants were wonderful . We ate at 4 other top restaurants across the street on the lagoon ( Fred’s , Harry’s , Puerto Madero , Crab House ) . I have to say , that our dining experience and menu selection out of all of them , were the best at Gustino’s The restaurant is beautiful, and so were the views and atmosphere . Our waiter Gustavo could not of been more attentive , friendly , knowledgeable, professional and gracious. He made our Anniversary very special . Every detail was perfection . The food was excellent… we had the Burrata Trio , Pear and Fig Appetizer. I had the seafood pasta ( they hand make the pasta on site ) my husband had the lasagna. Everything came out hot and the presentation was lovely . Then he brought a fabulous dessert with Happy Anniversary in chocolate . Highly recommend this restaurant when in Cancun.

Fantastic spot for a group or just a couple. Live music. The food tasted great and was plated even better. Freshest food at the resort and so stunning. I just wish I could go back again next week. Loved it!

Another great dinner experience at Gustino. The short ribs & Lamb chops were exceptional. Our server Carlos was great as he really made our experience very delightful.

Amazing Service by Carlos! Request him for your reservation and you will not be disappointed. 😀Assistant staff Angel was great too. The lobster ravioli and lasagna were terrific. Had the Carbonara on Monday which was also wonderful. Booked our last night in Cancun for here also. When you go 3 times in a week… you know it’s a great place. Enjoy!

Decided to try a restaurant on property and had plenty of fine Mexican . Opted for Gustino . Warmly welcomed by the hostesses. Elegantly candle lit overlooking the pool area , seated with a nice view . Julio was our waiter, went thru the menu options . Negroni and Cape Codder for drinks. Focaccia with oil and basaltic vinegar and a small toast with prosciutto to start. Ordered the caprese with fresh burratta as an appetizer. My wife selected the chicken parmigiana and it was “perfectly seasoned.” She is a cooking teacher and knows good plating. I ordered the meat lasagna .which was super fresh layers of pasta with a nice light meat sauce. After dinner drink created by the bartender of Yucatán honey anise liqueur , xtsbentun(sp), with Prosecco and basil, very refreshing. Excellent meal , recommended and would return here for more meals. Julio was exceptionally attentive and thorough. A great dining experience .

Service was great! Inside is very nice. Food was ok, no flavor. Very expensive. You will be charged for regular water. Expected better from the food. Would not eat here again. But….. service was great!

The restaurant has a nice cozy feel, with nice music and a violinist playing also. The food was good, however there were a couple of small things that could be improved. The San Pellegrino water was over priced - 250 pesos for a large bottle! This seemed like a rip-off and has put us off dining in the Marriott hotel again. Also the basic rules of service were not quite there, for example they cleared plates once the individual person had finished rather than waiting for all diners to finish their meal. Plus they gave us dessert menus before my daughter had even finished her main course. This can be rectified easily.

We really enjoyed Gustino. The room is beautiful and our server (I’m forgetting his name 😔) was truly outstanding. When asked for his opinion between dishes not only could he tell you all about each dish, he could describe in detail how they were prepared. Finally the food was very good and I thought the bill was reasonable for a great restaurant like that at a resort.

Felt ripped off and mislead by the Mexican currency. They way over charged for a glass of wine that back in the United States costs $30 a bottle. They charged us $100 each for a glass of Prisoner Cabernet. We each ordered lasagna and one glass of wine each with the bill ended to be $300. We left feeling robbed , and taking advantage of! Learn from our mistake the easy way and check the peso to the dollar before hand or better yet stay at the Marriott all inclusive next door . I will never step foot in any JW Marriott again!

Had not been here in several years. So we were hoping it was still good. Did not disappoint! The beef carpaccio was one of the best I have tasted. The lobster pasta special and the Carbonara were both amazing. Scheduled again on this trip.

There was a woman playing a violin connected to the sound system being pumped through the restaurant at an insane volume that made conversation impossible. That was once the other two guests in our party finally found my boyfriend and I with no help from the hostesses - they sent my parents on a wild goose chase wandering about the restaurant trying to locate us. The biggest issue with the music was the woman was a terrible violinist - I mean, absolutely awful. The whole table had headaches ten minutes in. We could not hear the server, who came around sporadically, at best. Our reservation was for 7:30pm and we did not receive our entrees until after 9:00pm, likely because of the multiple 10+ person tables. The food was meh. Carpaccio was cut too thin to even get off the plate with a fork - had to scrape it with a knife. The carbonara was very bland. Extremely disappointed with the entire experience, we could not wait to get out of there.

Wonderful experience - great food, excellent service. What more could you want in a dinner? Add a violin player to enhance the evening - yup! We had the meat lasagna and the chicken parmigiana- simple dishes very well prepared and seasoned. Portions are large too. So much so that we didn’t have room for dessert. Maybe next time.

We have dined at Gustino every year for the last 15+ years during our vacation. We have had so many great meals. This year the food was so disappointing. The T-bone steak special was tough and the mashed potatoes were dry and pasty. The lasagna had a burnt layer of noodles on the bottom and it was dry. We’ll try again next year but hope that the chef gets the quality of the food in hand.

Have been coming here for many years. Still a great atmosphere, with great food and service. Our waiter, Francisco was outstanding. The prices for wine and food are much higher than when we started coming. It is a great place and we will be back.

It was perfect. Gus was our server and her was outstanding. Highly recommend.

Great food and wonderful service. Both of us and our daughter had a great time. The clarinet musician made was amazing.

Ambiance and staff were both great. Appetizers and desserts were wonderful. Main courses of lobster and shrimp were overcooked.

Very loud with terrible acoustics. Overly dark. Everyone using their cell phone flashlight to read the menu. Great staff although they did not know how to charge the meal to my room. They finally figured it out.

Food and service generally excellent - price is about right for what you’re getting at a resort. However, decor and ambiance gives cruise ship “trying too hard” vibes which are difficult to take seriously. Watch out for the bottled water, it’s insanely expensive, at c. 200 MXP.

We loved gustinos. Very high end service and the fresh pastas are delicious! The waiter was wonderful and they treat you like you are the most important customer. Highly recommend!
