GUSTAZO is one of the very few authentic Cuban restaurants in the Boston area. Located at 240 Moody street, it offers traditional Cuban cuisine in a modern and inventive way. The ambiance is reminiscent of Spanish colonial architecture, with hand painted tiles, wall to wall pictures of old Havana and Spanish filigree motives.
Signature dishes include Slow Roasted Pork, Enchilado de Mariscos, Empanadas, Camarones al Ajillo and the luxurious Cuban flan.

I'm Cuban and this was a great Cuban food. The place is nice, there is public parking within a short distance. It was noisy, but I did not care.

My guests are super happy with the food taste and presentation! The service is amazing ! Noise level is the only complaint. I have to shout to talk . Wish the wall could install noise absorbing materials so that we can hear each other on a small table

We hate your new menu and you were our favorite restaurant on moody st. Your guacamole was the best…GONE FROM THE MENU. Why???? You dramatically changed your pork belly dish. The new one sucks. Your prices went up and your quality down. Very disappointed

Menu is creative & very good with fresh ingredients & complex flavors. Vegetarian tapas were outstanding. I enjoyed my mahi mahi immensely and my son & partner enjoyed their pork assada which gave them each enough to take home for leftover! Mojitos (I had the ginger one) were especially yummy. The only reason my rating isn't higher is ambiance-- we were seated in the back room & though it is lovely, it was very cold in there & VERY loud. At one point, my noise meter on my Apple Watch went off to warn me that the noise was at 90 decibels, which at 30 minutes of exposure, could cause hearing damage. Not sure what the solution is as I know it was a crowded spot (you definitely need reservations- and rather far in advance at that), as the ceiling is very high which makes the noise carry. But it was very hard to have a conversation without yelling & that made the whole experience less positive.

We loved the scallop ceviche, the empanadas, the ribs, the yucca fries are to die for. The shrimp was a tad overcooked. Nice wine list. Our server was very nice and made good recommendations, but he was VERY busy.

Excellent Tapas experience and drinks. Cuban Margarita was one of the best we’ve had. Tapas that we would highly recommend: bacon wrapped plantains, Jibarito (pork, ham, Gruyère on tostones), empanadas, and tacos. Tapas serve two people and so fun to share. Waiter was excellent and didn’t rush us.

Went out with a friend to celebrate my birthday - the food was terrific! We went for the tapas - and each was more delicious than the next. The service was excellent. I even got a free birthday flan - what could be better.

Gustazo was wonderful. The food and service were great. It was cold when the doors opened and it is not a quiet place. But the food and service make up for that.

Always a great meal at Gustazos. They specialize in small plates (tapas) which were incredibly tasty. We especially enjoyed the Maduros wrapped in bacon. The cocktails were varied and delicious. Service was excellent. The noise level is exceedingly high, so if you are looking for a lot of conversation this may not be the place. Very convivial.

The place was so noisy, it was impossible to have a conversation, and therefore to enjoy the meal. The food is good and the service was fine, but the noise was extremely uncomfortable.

This was a birthday celebration, party of three. Two of us shared small plates, while I had a large plate of Cuban pork, rice, plantains, and garnish. The small plates were average, nothing that the diners would order again. The large plate was overwhelmingly greasy and the low lighting made it difficult to tell what was meat and what was meat fat. The final straw occurred with dessert. We did not order anything, but the server brought a dessert and candle for the birthday celebrant. Later when I looked over the check, we were charged for this unordered dessert. That’s truly cheesy. We will not be going to Gustazo again. Nor will we recommend it to friends.

This eatery should not be missed. Unique presentations and nomination of flavors. Truly one of my fave places in all of Boston! Amazing way to really dive into some great food.

Dining out has gotten more expensive and I am will to pay the added expense if the food is excellent and the service is good. Gustazos is right up there on both counts. Delicious food with knowledgeable attentive staff.

We have enjoyed this restaurant in the past and were eager to go back. This restaurant is huge and it was pretty busy at 8 p.m. on Saturday night but there were available tables. We were led to the way back of the restaurant, which was fine. It took a while for a server to come to the table but she was very friendly. She was new to the job so was not able to answer a lot of questions and for some reason, all of our food was delivered to the table behind us. Most items were good, but not as good as I remembered on my first few visits. My son ordered a main dish (steak) that came with beans, rice, plantains, etc and he thought it was very good. I left this time having mixed feelings about the restaurant. Can a restaurant that seats that many always consistently deliver good food?

The food has gone downhill. Pork was dry and steak was over cooked even ask for medium rare. Hope they change back to old recipes.

Family get together. We ate outside which was really nice. They’ve done a good job making it inviting. The food is very good, I would just say the prices are a tad high for the volume. I don’t know why restaurants do this, but many offering came with 3 pieces. Since the vast majority of diners come in even numbers, can’t the plates reflect that? They did offer to add a fourth piece when needed, for a price, so it worked out.

Had a lovely dinner with friends and were fortunate to be seated in a room that was pretty quiet. Terrific server and food was excellent!

Absolutely fabulous food. Every single thing we ordered was delicious, and they had a wonderful selection of cocktails and mocktails. Very impressed, and the ambiance and styling of the restaurant is fabulous too.

I have been going to Gustazo for a couple years, but hadn’t been in a few months. I hadn’t looked at the menu prior to dinner so when I arrived I was a little disappointed to see that some of my favorite items were no longer on the menu. I loved guacamole with the plantain chips, and that was no longer on the menu. Also, the Cuban sandwich was no longer on the menu but I was told it was brought back but only available at the bar (where we weren’t seated). I did appreciate that they separated the tapas into vegetarian and meat options and that they had a handful of mocktails available ($9 each). But when I received my mocktail I was honestly shocked at how tiny it was. It could not have been more than 4 oz (I think it was smaller). This seemed ridiculous to me as I knew they would not be refillable. My friend did enjoy her rose sangria. The tacos, which were a new addition, were fine, but the plantain shells were a bit soggy and there was gristle in both of the carnitas tacos, which was unappetizing. I got an affogato, which I enjoyed, but the espresso was in a cup without a lip and spilled as I tried to add it to the ice cream. This was definitely my least enjoyable experience at Gustazo. I will check the menu beforehand if I go back.
