Since 1946, Gus’s has been serving true Southern hospitality and some of the best real pit BBQ around. Housed in the iconic Claremont Packing House, Gus’s is a tribute to Southern life, where family, tradition and celebration are of the utmost importance. We go to Gus’s in Claremont regularly because we know the food is consistently very good to excellant. I opted for the Half Brick Chicken which is a favorite of mine while my wife got her favorite sandwich, the Pulled Pork. My son joined us as a belated Moo Day celebration and being a big eater got the 3 meat combo with fried chicken, brisket and pulled pork. All Our meals were delicious and well received by all. Butter cake is delicious for dessert. The Manager who was on staff and we have met before is very friendly and outstanding in his services.

Really good food, really good service, and a nice local beer selection. Slightly crowded inside, but not too bad. I will definitely be visiting again.

I cannot say enough GOOD THINGS about GUS’s BBQ! We have been coming here for years while my son attended Claremont College nearby. It was ALWAYS his first choice to eat at when we were visiting which was often with baseball games. But last night, they sealed the deal forever by getting our large party in early for our reservation for our graduates dinner! I know it wasn’t easy but Ben and the crew bent over backwards for us to make it happen and we are forever grateful! Go visit Gus’s!! Great food, great cocktails, great outdoor seating and an overall great vibe!

Took my mother for an early Mother’s Day lunch to beat the crowds. Made a reservation. Our table was ready and they gave us a cute booth meant for two. I used to come here all the time when I lived in the village. Always got the same thing. The smoked salmon Kale salad! They changed it up and little but it was still delicious! I substitute the dressing for the sherry vinaigrette that comes on the Cobb. And always get extra. It’s so good. And the service was wonderful. I felt embarrassed asking for extra dressing but they were so accommodating. My mother had the turkey sandwich and loved it! Thank you Gus’s! I wish I could remember our servers name but she was great!

It was my first time coming. Food was delicious. I ordered a chicken sandwich with fries and ordered a side of mac & cheese. The sandwich was great. I added their spicy bbq sauce (which all of the condiments they offered at the table were so yummy) along with their chili vinegar sauce i believe. Our server Alyssa was super sweet and helpful when it came down to understanding the menu and gave us some good insight on what Gus’s BBQ was about. She kept our drinks filled and made sure we were okay the whole time. Shout out to her she was a great server! Overall we had a great experience at Gus’s BBQ and we will definitely be back with more friends. <3

Food was amazing as always A bit noisy but not bad inside, outside VERY noisy We will keep coming back here whenever we are attending events at Cal Poly Pomona or near Claremont

We were seated close to a large party of very noisy people. It was difficult to hear the waiter and each other. Food and service was great.

The food is always good and so is the vibe. Our waiter could have been friendlier and polite but maybe she was having an off day. I recommend eating here if you enjoy bbq and be sure to get the blueberry biscuit cobbler… delicious!
