The Green Gateau is an upper-scale neighborhood restaurant that has been in operation for over 25 years in the heart of downtown Lincoln. We have combined a European atmosphere with American contemporary cuisine to create a casual, yet refined feeling with delicious flavors.

Owners Eric and Cristi are proud to serve their award winning desserts, fresh seafood, and Nebraska Wagyu beef. This is just a fraction of the comprehensive menu that is sure to satisfy. We are also proud to source local and organic produce, dairy, meat, and wine.

The Green Gateau is a consistent winner of Lincoln's Choice 'Best Brunch', and offers brunch from 8-3 on both Saturday and Sunday.

The Green Gateau boasts one of the most comprehensive wine selections in Nebraska, and is annually voted a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence winner.

Normally we LOVE the Green Gateau it is a date night favorite . We also make it a tradition to go there after every half marathon we complete. We had a waiter “G” We will call him. Who we usually LOVE . We got there with reservations, the wait was long to have order order taken, he forgot about my tea, he forgot about the potatoes I ordered, it took forever for him to check ok us, the soup make me sick when I got home. Normally a hit, yesterday a complete miss

Had the Monday German special. It was good but would have loved some German mustard for the brat. They were out. Also it was served without the mushroom gravy but they brought that when we asked. Very quiet in the rear dining area.

We have been to Green Gateau many times now. They never disappoint!!! From the time you walk in, to the time you walk out, the staff is so welcoming and friendly. There seems to always be plenty of staff working. The food is fantastic. Their location in the Haymarket is perfect for pre or post game eats! Highly recommend!

The most amazing restaurant experience in my life, and I am from New Orleans and am well travelled across the world; and I must say, The Green Gateau stands above all other restaurants. From their service to their divine food, this is now my new favorite restaurant and I will be coming back to it several times and recommending it to several people that I know.

We had a very delicious dinner at the Green Gateau and a wonderful server. We have been there for Sunday brunch many times, which is also excellent. Sunday brunch is a busy, busy time for them. We plan to be back soon for dinner.

What a superb restaurant that was an unexpected find in downtown Lincoln! The French onion soup was amazing and the beef Wellington was top notch, a special for the evening. Great value for the money! Service was attentive but not over bearing they let you enjoy the food. Definite must for anyone in the area.

The staff was very good even with their hands full on Easter Sunday. It was noisy as you might expect on a day with a full house, our waiter was efficient and friendly, our food arrived quicker I expected and was very good. All in all our lunch was a pleasant experience, which is what we expected.

We don't get downtown often and decided to have Sunday lunch at Green Gateau. We started with the beignets. So delicious. My husband had the Chef's Breakfast and I had the Buttermilk Biscuit Breakfast. I guess I was thinking of the small biscuits smothered with gravy, but the biscuits were large fluffy biscuits with gravy. It was a lot of food, and I had delicious leftovers to enjoy. Our server was busy, but he was attentive and refilled our coffee and water frequently. It was a reminder that we should eat there more often. So good.

Out dinner at Green Gateau was very good. The food tasted great, with only a minor issue with the vegetables being lukewarm rather than hot. The service we received was good and he was honest about why one person’s plate was taking longer to come out!

Our server Maddi? was excellent and made us feel at home. Great place to enjoy brunch and dinner. Luv the people especially Ben, James, Elliot, Irish, Alex, Kurt and the rest of them.

Green Goteau is simply wonderful. Atmosphere, service and meal were all great. The Eggs Oscar and Cordon Bleu Crepes are delicious. Our server George was so nice and attentive. George is an asset to Green Goteau. Green Goteau has become our go to destination.

Have heard numerous things about GG. We went and wasn't overly impressed, very dated decor. We sat in the very front of the restaurant and it was so loud, it was hard to hear conversation at our table. When using the restroom, noticed the back was much quieter. Our food wasn't the greatest. I ordered eggs benedict and the muffin was very hard and hard to cut. The hash-browns were cooked on outside but cold inside. When asked if we could have both strawberry and lemon toppings for the beignets, no mention of extra charge to do that. $47 for two breakfasts, seemed a lot. The service was outstanding!! I don't think we'd go back, but wouldn't say someone else wouldn't enjoy. It's a place where a lot of college kids and their families visit.

Another wonderful meal at the Green Gateau. Was in town for a sisters weekend and were thoroughly spoiled with a leisurely brunch. Food was fantastic and waiter very helpful. What a joy to have this long standing gem of a restaurant in Lincoln. Thank you!

The entire staff goes above and beyond. The variety of choices on the menu should please even the pickiest of people. The food is not only presented so nicely, but so delicious! The atmosphere is so quaint and welcoming. This is definitely a place I will return when I'm in town.
